Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Automotive Major) or equivalent usually required, on the job training and automotive maintenance certification and trainings. 
• 5 years relevant and proven experience as a Senior Automobile mechanic. 
• Working Knowledge and skills in SAP.  
• Adherence to Company health and safety regulations. 
• Certificate of good conduct. 
• Proficient computer literacy. 

Job Role

Supervise and Coordinate the Execution of Maintenance Plans, Schedules and Tasks: 

• Coordinate and follow up on the execution of the Maintenance Plan. 
• Allocate Artisans/Technicians/Mechanics Duties as per the maintenance requests generated by Drivers, planners and Inspection Reports. 
• Supervise Maintenance as per Schedules. 
• Assist Mechanics with breakdown repairs and troubleshooting of faults. 
• Lead the Route Cause Analysis for all Breakdowns and premature component failures. 
• Ensure all equipment is operated at its optimum. 
• Lead the process of generating Defect Reports and Post Repair Quality Inspections. 

Manage Workshop facility, tools and equipment: 

• Issues Job cards to specific technicians for specific times to conduct planned maintenance activities as per schedule.  
• Coordinates the proper use of workshop service vans among the workshop staff. 
• Ensures safety standards are adhered to in the fleet workshop and maintenance activities. 

Maintenance Workflow Management: 

• Ensures that Maintenance Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are followed in all maintenance activities. 
• Participates in the creation and review of all maintenance SOPs. 
• Responsible for training artisans and maintenance staff on the SOPs. 
• Ensures that Time stamps for all maintenance activities are accurate and captured in both the maintenance APP and SAP and that all records and available and submitted to the data entry and planning team. 

Housekeeping and Enforcement of Health and Safety Standards: 

• Ensure good housekeeping of the workshop for cleanliness and a safe working environment. 
• Ensure adherence to necessary legal requirements. 
• Ensure adherence to health and safety requirements. 

People Management 

• On-going, informal performance monitoring, feedback and coaching provided daily or as required. 
• Leave schedules and processes conducted according to policy. 
• Monthly performance agreements and conduct reviews for artisans. 
• Handle Discipline and grievances as per company policy/guidelines. 
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned by your supervisor.
