Forester at Q-Sourcing Servtec Group

We are looking for a competent, skilled, and experienced Forester to work in Eldoret and its Environs to support our client in establishment and management of small, medium and large-scale forests

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Co-ordinate with the client on planning
• Participate in recruitment of project staff
• Supervise extension offices (and casual employees) for establishment and management of forests
• Supervise execution of the workplan as agreed by the client
• Conduct training of Supervisors, Team leaders and staff on SOPs
• Ensure all forest establishment services are done as per the client’s standards per plot
• Ensure adequate and timely supply of tools and equipment, collection and safe storage after work
• Ensure timely, complete and accurate data entry by self and your team as required by the client
• Ensure safe keeping of all client and company issued tools and equipment
• Ensure all staff payments are processed on time ensuring integrity of the process and payments
• Prepare daily, weekly and periodic reports as requested
• Manage project execution costs, take responsibility for financial performance of the project
• Provide expert advisory to the client on forest management.
• Ensure all SOPs and legal requirements for the forestry industry are complied with
• Participate in client organized/sponsored meetings/activities as may be requested from time to time
• Take lead in ensuring that all activities are carried out in a safe manner and all safety protocols put in place are adhered to
• Proactively communicate to management and the client any foreseen challenges and ensure adequate mitigation measures are put in place
• Ensure all documents/reports required to facilitate invoicing are provided on time

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum Diploma in Forestry or Agroforestry
• Valid driving and/or motorbike riding license
• Excellent oral and written Communication Skills
• Excellent planning & organizational skills
• Computer literate with excellent knowledge in excel, email and Power point
• 3-5 years’ in managing tree plantations
• Excellent data analysis and report writing skills
• Good understanding of finance language
• Good administrative skills.
• Attentive to detail and a good negotiator
• Good knowledge of safety and risk management
• Project management skills or experience an added advantage
