Freelance Designer at Spring Valley Coffee

The Role

• As our Freelance Designer, you’ll work with the Spring Valley team to turn ideas into beautiful, brilliantly executed creative.
• This is an ongoing freelance role, initially around 3–4 days per month, working across a wide range of Spring Valley projects including packaging, print, campaigns, events, café collateral, presentations and digital assets.

Location & Work Structure

• Freelance role, initially around 3–4 days per month.
• Nairobi-based designers are preferred, as we love working together in person.
• Remote candidates will be considered for the right person.
• Start date is immediate.

Role & Responsibilities

• Turn creative briefs into polished, high-quality design work.
• Develop creative across packaging, print, campaigns, events, café collateral, presentations and digital assets.
• Prepare artwork for both digital and print production.
• Work independently and manage agreed deadlines.
• Work with the Spring Valley team to develop and refine creative ideas.
• Ensure final work is production-ready and meets the required standard.
• Bring strong design thinking and attention to detail to every project.

Experience & Attributes

• Strong experience with Adobe Illustrator and InDesign.
• Confident working in Canva.
• Brilliant eye for design, typography and detail.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating excellent brand and graphic design work.
• Experience taking creative briefs through to polished, production-ready work.
• Experience preparing artwork for digital and print.
• Able to work quickly and independently while maintaining a very high standard.
• Experience with premium or high-end consumer brands is strongly preferred.
• Experience with packaging, hospitality, food and beverage or lifestyle brands is a bonus.
