Head of Marketing at New Kenya Co-operative Creameries Limited

Job Purpose

Reporting to the Chief Manager Sales & Marketing, Head of Marketing will be responsible for developing, implementing, and executing strategic marketing plans for New KCC through increased visibility, awareness, and development of new products to attract potential customers and retain existing ones.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Developing and executing Marketing strategy, budget, policies, and procedures for the smooth operation of the department.
2. Managing, tracking, analyzing, and recommending growth strategies such as promotion and visibility for New KCC brand portfolio to grow brand shares.
3. Developing campaigns and other communications for brands and implementation of the same within agreed budgets.
4. Identifying, overseeing, and assessing the activities of external advertising, promotions and marketing research agencies engaged to implement strategies.
5. In liaison with other departments plan and develop branding innovations for existing product as well as the creation of new products
6. Benchmarking New KCC brands with competition and ensuring brand profitability through correct pricing policies as well as developing an effective price and counter competition strategy
7. Co-ordinating in-house research and subcontract external agencies to carry out market, product, and consumer research.
8. Development of communication strategies for new products and re-positioning of existing products.
9. Reviewing and recommending sponsorships and events participations.

Person specifications

1. A minimum period of twelve (12) years relevant work experience and at least five (5) years in a senior management role in comparable and relevant position.
2. Master of business administration or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
3. Bachelor’s degree in Sales and Marketing or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
4. Certificate in Leadership Course or its equivalent lasting not less than four (4) weeks.
5. Member of marketing Society of Kenya (MSK) in good standing
6. Working knowledge of an ERP system
