    HR Intern

    Reports to: HR & Admin

    Job Overview: the HR Intern will be responsible for providing day to day administrative support to the human resource team.

    Job Responsibilities:

    1. Ensure quality and integrity of HR filing system by keeping all HR records, information and files clearly labelled, organized and confidential
    2. Maintain staff personal files and ensure that all files have up to date information
    3. Assist the HR function in basic recruitment processes and related desk work; 
    4. Arrange for and coordinate interviews (date of interviews, calling short-listed applicants) administering tests and/or taking part in the interviews where necessary and ensuring all pre-employment documentation is in place.
    5. Ensure records of all recruitment and selection processes of employees and consultants are correctly filed
    6. Support the HRM in employees’ inductions for effective staff placement;
    7. Follow up on completed performance review documents and development plans with line managers and update performance management records
    8. Respond to general staff queries and advise them on Sasema’s HR policies and procedures and local legislative requirements, seeking advice from and referring more complex issues to the Human Resources Manager.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

    Undergraduate degree/ Diploma in Human Resource Management

    SKILLS AND COMPETENCE

    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with others and to support others
    • Fair knowledge of HR administration processes and best practices is critical;
    • Person of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality;
    • Ability to multi-task and get things done to a good conclusion;
    • Excellent planning, organizational skills and good reporting skills;
    • Keen attention to detail and willingness to learn;
    • Fluency in spoken and written English

    DESIRABLE

    An individual with a high level of self-awareness, personal energy, stamina and flexibility, and an ability to adapt to changing situations while maintaining focus on delivery and follow-through.
