ICT Officer (Network & Security) at Konza Technopolis Development Authority

Basic Salary Scale Ksh 60,000- 110,000 p.m.
Terms of Service 1 Year Contract, Renewable Subject to Satisfactory Performance.

Duties and responsibilities

• Projects, configure, implement, and maintain all security platforms and any other related software, such as anti-virus, routers, Anti-SPAM, switches, intrusion detection or intrusion prevention, firewalls, cryptography systems, SIEM, and MDM.
• Plan and appraise ongoing assessment of antivirus, application control, firewall, SIEM, VPN, SSL, intrusion detection or intrusion prevention and other network component policies
• Guarantee network security best practices are executed through auditing: router, change control, switch, firewall configurations, and monitoring
• Undertakes periodic vulnerability testing, and lead remediation projects
• Articulates systems and methodologies as well as reply to security-related events and support in remediation effort.
• Coordinates and oversee log analysis for company managed services offerings to ensure customer policy and security requirements are met
• Maintains network security devices to enable pro-active defence of networks within a managed service SOC environment, providing protective monitoring to multiple commercial customers
• Maintains security devices and show practical experience in managing SIEM environments, firewalls, content filters, NIDS, proxy servers, HIPS, and packet capture devices
• Maintains and administer smart city & data centre’s networks including but not limited to, the delivery of network planning, design, implementation & optimization services;
• Performs installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of customer managed hardware, software and peripheral devices;
• Designs computer security architecture and developing detailed cyber security designs;
• Prepare and document security related standard operating procedures and protocols;
• Develop technical solutions and new security tools to help mitigate security vulnerabilities and automate repeatable tasks in the data center;
• Write comprehensive reports including assessment-based findings, outcomes and propositions for further system security enhancement;

Person Specification

For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:

• Minimum of two (2) years’ experience will be an added advantage;
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or any other equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution;
• Relevant Professional qualifications HCIA- Storage, HCIP- Storage, HCIE- Storage, HCIA- Cloud, HCIP- Cloud and HCIE- Cloud, CISCO, CCNP, CCNA, CCIE, CCSA, FCNSP, CISSP, SSCP, CEH, GIAC, Security +, OSCP, CompTIA Server+, MCSE, LPIC, CompTIA Cloud+, VCP, or CCSE qualified
• Excellent hands-on experience and knowledge implementing, configuring, integrating, and supporting the network security with ITIL, Cacti, SolarWinds, Checkpoint or any other NMS, ITSM tools, DR tools, Load balancers, security solutions
