    Mechanical /Air Conditioning Supervisor

    Main Responsibilities

    • Ensure proper organization of mechanical section and delivery of effective control and productivity
    • Ensure all machines and equipment are in good condition at all times
    • Ensure all plumbing works are well done and maintained
    • Ensures that all systems and procedures are kept up to date and that all standards are adhered to
    • Control of materials requested from the store by ensuring proper usage
    • Ensuring all leakage e.g. water steam and air pressure are minimized
    • Ensures that all security and safety regulations are followed.
    • Supervising and allocating duties to A /C & Refrigeration technicians.
    • Ensure Effective and efficient operation of all HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
    • To ensure that the guest room Fan Coil Units are maintained for better and effective cooling.
    • Ensure that the Engineering Store is fully furnished with all the relevant spares.
    • Ensure shift is covered by competent Technician
    • Ensure that the Engineering Store is fully furnished with all the relevant spares.
    • Minimises expenditures by controlling wastage of store materials & Damage
    • Formulation of Energy-saving measure.
    • Ensuring that mechanical technicians adhere to set working hours
    • Submission of FF&E requirement to the CE
    • Ensuring that quality workmanship is observed
    • Ensuring quick and permanent solutions are implemented to avert re-occurrences
    • Periodic preventive maintenance for machines and equipment is in place
    • Close and hands-on supervision of mechanical technicians
    • Planning and scheduling of maintenance of equipment without interfering with the normal operations and depending on the urgency
    • Supervises and assist in daily check for Laundry and Kitchen Equipment
    • Ensures that the preventive maintenance is done as scheduled Advises storekeeper on what items are required in the store
    • Ensures that quality spares are delivered
    • Ensure minimal wastage of materials
    • Ensuring all equipment and machines are working and in good condition
    • Ensure periodic testing and service of the equipment are done
    • In charge of all the A/C & Refrigeration technicians all mechanical plant rooms & maintenance.
    • Informing the Assistant/Chief Engineer regarding all the works involved in this section.
    • Works with other supervisors in other departments in resolving guest complaints and other engineering-related tasks.
    • Identify FF & E requirements for A/C & Refrigeration section.
    • Implements maintenance plan as provided by the Assistant/CE and submits a weekly report of the achievements and failures.
    • Inspect all related equipment and give feedback to the Assistant/CE
    • Supervise and assist in carrying out repair works on all HVAC & Refrigeration equipment.
    • Ensure all maintenance requests for this section are handled daily with priority given to those affecting paying guests.
    • Enforces water analysis and treatment of the water feature, Pools with daily testing.
    • Ensure day and evening shifts are covered by a competent technician.
    • Ensure all AC complaints are logged down for action purposes.
    • Ensures that Legionella treatment rooms & VRV outdoors are done bi-annually & quarterly Rooms are done.
    • Obtain CE’s approval for requests and forward to storekeeper for supply.
    • Ensures that there are enough materials and spares in store for maintenance & repair works.
    • Ensure that proper specifications are given when ordering spares and materials.
    • Day and evening shift technicians should fill the checklists and ensure proper actions are taken.
    • Ensure all checklists are filed accordingly.
    • Has detailed knowledge of FTO Department Brand Standards to ensure compliance.
    • To have complete Knowledge of HVAC and MEP Installations
    • Ensure HACCP and COSHH policies are strictly adhered to.
    • Make sure assignments are accurately and professionally done the first time.
    • Ensure goods ordered are high good quality materials and inspect them during delivery.
    • Implementation of energy and cost-cutting measures.
    • Comply with all Kempinski policies.
    • Comply with all systems and procedures as laid down by Chief Engineer

    • Control and endorse work permit for the project work and ensure that QP's safety regulations, project safety plans, client Qatar's safety and environment regulations are understood and followed by the contractor
    • Ensure the safety of all employees and contractors working in the operating unit or department by driving continuous improvement toward a true safety culture
    • Closely apply and follow up on all Samfex Processes to manage notifications, work orders preparation and closing, parts ordering, job history recording and ensure work orders closed after work completion with updated reports and attachments
    • Assist in the coordination of cross-training of existing API personnel
    • Fluent with Inventory and Materials Management concepts, such as inventory control and analysis, material lead times, cost analysis, usage analysis
    • Review maintenance contracts
    • Develops and implements standard work procedures to continually improve overall team productivity
    • Responsible for safe work practices
    • Be able to make decisions based on knowledge and experience
    • Commissioning duties for the Mechanical discipline
    • Any other duties that may be delegated by the management through the Chief Engineer or his Designate

    Desired Skills & Qualifications

    • High School or secondary diploma required.
    • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
    • Relevant certification in AC and Refrigeration.
    • 6 Years experience in the maintenance of buildings and facilities with 3 years Experience in a supervisory role preferrably in a 5* hotel chain.
    • Experience with repair and maintenance of HVAC systems, cold rooms, freezers and VRV's.
    • Experience in operation of BMS.
    • Ability to work and communicate in a multinational environment.
    • Good verbal and written communication skills.
    • Computer literacy.
    • Good aptitude in trouble shooting.
    • Quick at problem resolution.
    • Engineering Administration system.
    • Able to work in a fast paced environment and can multitask.
    • Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.
