The Lead – RPA & Automation Development is responsible for leading the design, development, and optimization of intelligent automation solutions across Equity Group Holdings.
This role supports the Group’s Africa Recovery and Resilience Plan (ARRP) by delivering scalable, secure, and efficient automation solutions using Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI) and other RPA technologies.
The role leads a multidisciplinary team and collaborates with data scientists and engineers to transform business processes across the Group’s multi-country operations.
A key mandate of this role is to ensure execution of the Automation & RPA Center of Excellence (CoE) to drive governance, innovation, and enterprise-wide adoption of automation best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development and deployment of RPA and automation solutions using Power Automate, Power Apps, and other low-code/no-code tools.
Translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and compliant automation workflows.
Collaborate with Data Scientists to integrate AI/ML models into automation pipelines for intelligent decision-making.
Ensure seamless integration of automation solutions with core banking systems, CRMs, DMS, and third-party APIs.
Lead the Automation & RPA CoE, including defining frameworks, standards, reusable components, and governance models.
Promote citizen development and automation literacy across business units through training, enablement, and support.
Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and drive continuous improvement.
Support change management and user adoption across business units.
Mentor and lead a team of developers and engineers across multiple geographies and technologies.
Accountabilities
Deliver cost savings and productivity improvements through automation.
Lead and mentor a team of 8–12 developers across multiple technologies and geographies.
Deliver optimized and automated workflows that reduce manual effort and improve turnaround times.
Ensure robust integration with enterprise systems and secure document management.
Enhance internal user experience and operational efficiency through automation.
A fully operational Automation & RPA CoE with defined governance, reusable assets, and performance metrics
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
Expertise with Microsoft Power Platform and RPA tools
Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Developer Associate is a plus
RPA Developer Certification (UiPath, Blue Prism, etc.) is nice to have
Lean Six Sigma Yellow/Green Belt is plus.
Agile or Scrum Certification
6–8 years in automation and workflow development, with 2+ years in a leadership role
Experience in financial services or enterprise automation environments
Experience in Agile teams using tools like Azure Dev Ops, Smartsheets
Experience managing cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams
Proven experience in establishing or scaling an Automation or RPA CoE is highly desirable
