Lubricants Merchandiser - Makueni at Clovers Management & Training Consultants Ltd

JOB PURPOSE

• The Lubricants Merchandiser (LM) is responsible for ensuring optimal visibility, availability, and promotion of lubricant products across retail outlets such as auto shops, with the objective of driving sales growth and strengthening brand presence.
• The LM is also responsible for communicating ongoing promotions and the Unique Selling Points (USPs) of Caltex lubricants to retailers, mechanics, and other relevant trade stakeholders.

NOTE, - 6 Months Contract with Salary package of Ksh, 38,700.00 p/m

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Sales & Demand Support

• Support distributors in achieving volume and revenue targets through order collection and follow-up on deliveries, which will be made by Distributor Sales Representatives (DSRs).
• Identify high-demand outlets for targeted focus and handover to the distributor.
• Recommend optimal stock levels to retailers based on demand trends.

Outlet Visits & Relationship Management

• Visit new and existing outlets as per assigned route plans shared by the DSM and TM.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with mechanics, counter sales representatives, and shop owners.
• Provide basic product knowledge and usage guidance to trade customers where applicable.

Product Visibility & Merchandising

• Ensure proper shelf and display positioning, including visible, eye-level, counter-top, and door placements.
• Ensure Point-of-Sale (POS) materials are properly positioned in visible, eye-level, and counter-side locations.
• Maximize shelf share and brand visibility in comparison with competitors.

Inventory & Stock Management

• Monitor stock levels across outlets and prompt or create orders where necessary.
• Ensure continuous availability of fast-moving Stock Keeping Units (SKUs) as guided by the DSM.
• Coordinate stock replenishment with the DSM.

Promotion & Brand Activation

• Support mechanic engagement programs, product awareness campaigns, and promotional activities, with a focus on Jibambe na Caltex.
• Communicate ongoing promotions and Caltex lubricant USPs to relevant trade stakeholders.
• Monitor competitor promotions and report relevant market intelligence.

Compliance & Reporting

Submit accurate daily and weekly reports through the designated reporting platform covering:

• Store visits
• Mechanic visits
• Orders taken
• Stock availability and replenishment requirements
• Product visibility and merchandising compliance
• POS placement
• Competitor activities and promotions
• Relevant market intelligence
• Ensure all assigned outlets are visited according to the approved route plan.
• Maintain accurate and timely records of all activities conducted within assigned outlets.

EXPERIENCE/COMPETENCY

• One year experience in sales and marketing precisely Auto Lubricants.
