    Manager Information Communication Technology

    V/ No. 13/2020

    Duties & Responsibilities

    Managerial Responsibilities

    • Maintain the overall integrity of the commission’s network and system operations to ensure integrity of information in the commission
    • Manage all matters related to quality assurance as well as testing of software to ensure viability of the systems and application;
    • Manage technical hardware and software crisis situations to support continuity of business operations;
    • Facilitate smooth running of all information communication technology systems and ensure adherence to software licensing laws;
    • Liaise with user departments to ensure effective maintenance of ICT equipment;
    • Identify information communication technology training needs for officers in the commission to facilitate capacity building of the divisional staff;
    • Reviewing and evaluating hardware maintenance feasibility studies and detailed specifications before implementation;
    • Ensure adherence to Information Communication Technology standards;
    • Direct the selection and installation of ICT resources and the provision of user training;
    • Ensure timely implementation and effective maintenance of systems; xi. Oversee the development of reports on ICT standards and supervising overall system documentation;

    Operational Responsibilities

    • Mentor and train new ICT support staff to have a competent and motivated workforce;
    • Provide technical advice to the various department in the commission;
    • Provide users with appropriate information communication technology support and advice
    • Secure data from internal and external attack through continuous security audit;
    • Undertake research and manage new& ongoing information communication technology projects;
    • Schedule upgrades and security backups of hardware and software to facilitate business continuity in the Commission;
    • Analyze information needs and specify technology to meet those needs;

    Requirement For appointment

    •  Master’s degree in Computer Science or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
    • Professional certifications in ICT such as Certified Computer Network Professional (CCNP, CCNA, MCSE,MCSA,MCSD, Oracle Certified Database Administrator, CISM/CISA or their equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
    • Undertake a senior management course from a recognized institution;
    • Current membership of an ICT professional body;
    • Ten (10) years of service, of which three (3) should be in a comparable position from a reputable organization; and
    • Meet the requirement of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
