    Managing Director

    Job Purpose

    The Managing Director is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of DBK, who is responsible to the Board of Directors with responsibilities for the implementation of the DBK’s strategic goals and the management of its resources. The job holder will be a key business driver to oversee growth and the profitability of the bank in an effective and efficient manner, provide leadership, direction, coordinate all activities of the bank, provide professional business support to the management and staff of the bank, provide proper assistance and timely information to the board.

    Duties and Responsibilities;

    1. Develop and execute Bank Strategy and delivering annual plans and goals as per set targets.
    2. Responsible for all strategic decisions that seek to position the Bank in a competitive advantage and manner leaning towards solid financial performance, investments and ventures.
    3. Lead in the achievement of the Banks financial goals as per the approved strategy/corporate plans and consistently meeting the Kenya Performance Indicators.
    4. Building a performance-based culture and ensuring the bank has talent and people to support the banks current and future goals.
    5. Foster risk management and compliance culture
    6. Provide leadership and direction to the executive team and build a culture of internal excellence at all levels.
    7. Guide investment in customer centric technology for better customer experience and make the Bank have strategic competiveness.
    8. Ensure continuous product innovation and diversification to meet the customer needs.
    9. Forge strategic alliances with key stakeholders designed to market mutually beneficial and profitable products and services.
    10. Be the Accounting Officer in line with section 67 of the PFM Act 2012 (PFMA) and perform the functions of the Accounting officer in line with the PFM Act 2012 and PFM Regulations 2015;

    Qualifications, Skills and Experience for Appointment

    1. A minimum period of fifteen ( 15) years’ relevant work experience, five (5) years of which must be in Senior Management;
    2. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from a recognized University;
    3. Master’s degree in a relevant field from a recognized University;
    4. Professional qualification and membership to a professional body where applicable;
    5. Attended leadership course/program from a recognised institution
    6. Proficiency in computer applications
    7. Have knowledge and a clear understanding of the Banking sector
    8. Demonstrate a clear understanding of local, national and international banking systems.
    9. Fulfil the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
