    Officer, Portfolio Management

    Ref: CPF/POPM

    Key duties and responsibilities:

    • Implement asset allocation decisions amongst client portfolios and general management of all publicly traded asset classes including reviewing, analysing, and re-balancing client portfolios based on asset allocation targets and in compliance with investment policies.
    • Research and present new and viable investment opportunities.
    • Review and improve financial models, critically analyse market research, and assess the impact on portfolio and provide risk mitigation insight.
    • Participate in conducting research and due diligence on potential investment opportunities.
    • Report to the client as per agreed timelines and ensure investment Service Level Agreements are adhered to.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with contacts within the investment industry to conduct searches and gain knowledge on appropriate investment opportunities.
    • Implement best operational and risk management practises in private equity portfolio management.
    • Lead investment analysts in conducting analysis of investment opportunities.
    • Research and present new and viable investment opportunities.
    • Maintain a cash flow allocation forecast model.
    • Review and improve financial models, critically analyse market research, and assess the impact on portfolio and provide risk mitigation insight.
    • Manage relationships with the clients.
    • Participate in business development activities.
    • Prepare and present daily/weekly/monthly reports to management for decision making.
    • Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

    Knowledge, experience, and qualifications required
    Academic & Professional Qualifications/Memberships to professional bodies:

    • A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
    • Professional qualification in securities and investments, CIFA, CISI Level 3, ACCA, CPA(K), CFA level 1 or its equivalent.
    • Member of Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments (CISI), Institute of Chartered Investment and Financial Analysts (ICIFA), Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) or its equivalent.

    Experience Required:

    1. At least 2 years relevant experience in a similar organisation or busy function.
