    Principal Marketing Communication Officer - (2022/EA/03)

    Duties and Responsibilities

    The duties and responsibilities of the selected candidate will entail:

    1. Advising Chief Executive Officer/Director and the Board on policies, strategies and procedures for carrying out campaigns, awareness creation and sensitization.
    2. Initiating development of communication, marketing, advocacy and branding strategy for KENAS.
    3. Advising on clear lines and channels of both internal and external communication;
    4. Organizing events, activities and forums for promoting accreditation in Kenya, the region and globally and the use of accreditation marks.
    5. Liaising with other departments to design and package information for dissemination.
    6. Developing advocacy and education campaigns.
    7. Enhancing the image of KENAS to promote the competence of accredited conformity assessment bodies.
    8. Organizing events and exhibitions, publications, website content, social media, media, to promote awareness of KENAS accreditation and its equivalence under the mutual recognition arrangement.
    9. Organizing events and exhibitions, publications, website content, social media, media, to promoting recognition of accredited bodies by users of conformity assessment.
    10. Enhancing KENAS visibility through education, sensitization programs, billboards, advertising, publicity and marketing activities.
    11. Advising on and coordinating corporate social responsibility activities.
    12. Managing media relations.
    13. Organizing stakeholders’ forums.
    14. Crisis communication management and response in line with KENAS corporate guidelines.
    15. Editing, reviewing and providing support in design, production and distribution of newsletters, annual reports, speeches, publication, website contents, reports and audio-visual production of accreditation publication.

    Academic and Professional Qualifications

    1. At least six (6) years working experience in the public and private sector; three (3) of which must have been a supervisory role;
    2. Bachelors Degree in Communication, Commerce (Marketing Option), International Business, International Relations, Marketing and any other relevant discipline;
    3. Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
    4. Demonstrated results in work experience;
    5. Proficiency in Computer applications;
    6. Demonstrated results in work performance; and
    7. Fulfils the requirement of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution

    1. Certificate of good conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI)
    2. Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
    3. Clearance Certificate from Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
    4. Clearance from Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)
    5. Clearance Certificate from a Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
