The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has been implementing Immigration and Border Management (IBM) programmes since 2001, building the capacity of the agencies in the field of border management in effective IBM to promote safe and orderly migration, mitigating security risks and threats. The programme provides technical support under five thematic areas: 1) Legislation and policy; 2) Infrastructure and equipment; 3) Border Management Information Systems; 4) Inter-agency and regional collaboration, and 5) Organisational development and management.
With the current growth of the IBM programme in Kenya, the unit seeks a proactive Programme Officer to strategically support its undertaking on 1) Project Co-ordination and Implementation 2)
Budget management 3) Project development, 2) Donor and Government liaisons, 3) Communication, 4) Reporting and with close co-ordination with IBM programme staff, Resource Management Unit (RMU) and Mission Support and Innovation Unit (MSU) within the mission.
Under the overall supervision of IOM Kenya Chief of Mission, the direct supervision of the head of Programme and Policy Development and in close co-ordination with programme staff, the incumbent will be responsible for providing support in the implementation of IBM-related programmes in the mission.
