Security Officers (4 Positions) at Kenya Agricultural & Livestock Research Organization

Duties and Responsibilities 

• Coordinating security checks within the organization premises; 
• Coordinating investigative activities within the organization; 
• Sending alerts to the management and staff on security incidents for safeguard measures; 
• Coordinating periodic security vetting of guards; 
• Maintaining a security logbook for all security related incidents; 
• Maintaining an inventory of security apparatus and equipment; 
• Allocating duties, supervising, mentoring and appraising staff in the unit; 
• Monitoring current trends of crime and related matters that may affect the 
• institution and recommend appropriate action to the management; and 
• Monitoring security systems installed in the premises to ensure that they are 
• properly functioning at all times. 

Job Requirements 

• Served as a Security Officer for a minimum period of three (3) years; 
• Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: -
• Criminology; Criminology and Criminal Justice; Criminology and Fraud 
• Management; Criminology and Security Management; Security Management or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution; 
• A First Aid Certificate from a recognized institution; 
• A certificate in computer applications from a recognized institution;
• Fulfilled the requirements of chapter six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya
