Senior Counselor at Uasin Gishu County Government

QUALIFICATIONS,REQUIREMENTS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Requirements for Appointment: -

• Degree in any of the following disciplines: Social Psychology, Psychology and Counseling and Sociology or any other relevant qualification from a recognized institution;
• Must have at least three (3) years relevant working experience;
• Ability to keep confidentiality of clients’ information;
• Ability to empathize with clients;
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; and
• Membership to a relevant professional body.

Duties and Responsibilities: -

• Develop and implement policies pertaining to counseling of staff;
• Plan and coordinate counseling programs;
• Conduct both individual and group counseling;
• Promote ethics in the county public service;
• Keep appropriate records;
• Diagnose and treat various mental, emotional and behavioral disorders;
• Identify employees with social psychological or health related problems;
• Facilitate seminars and workshops on guidance and counselling matters;
• Submit monthly reports on the activities undertaken; and
• Plan, monitor and evaluate performance of staff against the set targets.
