    Senior Engineer (Instrumentation & Control)

    Job Specification

    1. Plan and ensure all scheduled maintenance of equipment and systems is carried out on time.
    2. Ensure break down maintenance is carried out without any delays.
    3. Recommend spares to be purchased for either stock or immediate use. iv. Prepare preliminary specifications for equipment to be purchased.
    4. Develops maintenance procedures.
    5. Write regular maintenance reports to the Chief Engineer (I&C).
    6. Assign and supervise maintenance works within the region.
    7. Maintain maintenance records for the region or area.
    8. Report to the Chief Engineer (I&C) on maintenance issues of the region as appropriate.
    9. Liaise with other maintenance departments to carry out cross cutting maintenance tasks.
    10. Ensure sufficiency of tools for daily maintenance works. xii. Assist in preparation of tender specifications.
    11. Assist in tender evaluations.
    12. Supervise projects implementation.

    Person Specification

    1. Bachelor of Science in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or recognized equivalent.
    2. Minimum six (6) years relevant experience.
    3. Supervisory course lasting not less than two (2) weeks
    4. Proficiency in Computer applications
    5. Registered and licensed with EBK as a professional Engineer.
    6. Membership to IEK
    7. Demonstrated competence in work performance and results

    Key Skills and Competencies

    1. Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of engineering aspects in Oil/gas Industry including broad knowledge of local and international standards.
    2. Flexibility and responsiveness in handling and determining Civil Engineering issues, sound analytical skills and the ability to identify with precision the critical factors of a problem in an impartial and objective way.
    3. Ability to maintain professional status and keep abreast of evolving trends in engineering.
    4. Proficiency in Computer Applications.
    5. Demonstrate technical expertise in risk management, quality assurance as well as monitoring and evaluation.
    6. Ability to empower staff through coaching and counselling by emphasizing accountability and results oriented management rather than direct supervision.
    7. Strong well developed communication and interpersonal skills including ability to prepare relevant reports.
    8. Flexibility and responsiveness in handling and determining Civil Engineering issues, sound analytical skills and the ability to identify with precision the critical factors of a problem in an impartial and objective way.
    9. Ability to deliver KPC’s articulated vision for change.
    10. Ability to establish flexible multidisciplinary teams.
    11. Ability to handle and emergency response situation and team as well as handling safety oversight roles.
