    Senior Film Classification Assistant

    REF: KFCB/HR/12/2022
    Terms of Service: Permanent & Pensionable
    Job Grade: KFCB 7

    Job Purpose

    To assist execution of Board’s mandate of regulating possession, public exhibition and distribution of film, through examining every film and poster for purposes of classification and imposing age restriction on viewership with the aim of promoting National aspiration and values, and protection of children from harmful film and broadcast content as prescribed by the Films and Stage Plays Act Cap 222 and other relevant legislations.

    Responsibilities

    Duties and responsibilities will include:

    1. Updating and maintaining film classification catalogues;
    2. Receiving and filing application for film examination and classification;
    3. Issuing film classification catalogues to clients;
    4. Preparing film classification reports;
    5. Receiving and filing application for film examination and classification of content;
    6. f) Updating and maintaining film classification catalogues; of examined and classified
    7. audio-visual content;
    8. g) Filling forms and maintaining a register of clients who, have applied for film and content classification; and
    9. Assisting in preparation of classification reports.
    10. iAny other duty as assigned by the supervisor from time to time.

    Specifications/Requirements for Appointment;

    1. Must have a Diploma in any of the following fields: Film/Video/TV/Radio Production, Mass Communication, Information Studies, Journalism, Public Relations, Education and Sociology or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
    2. Three (3) years relevant work experience;
    3. Proficient in Computer applications
