    Senior Office Assistant

    JOB REF:  KFCB/HR/11/2022

    Terms of Service: Permanent & Pensionable

    Grade: KFCB 9

    Job Purpose: Responsible for ensuring that the office functions efficiently and smoothly by providing clerical, secretarial and administrative support to other employees working in the office.

    Responsibilities

    Senior Driver

    Job Purpose: Responsible for providing driving and logistical services for proper and safe handling of the Board’s motor vehicles and transportation of the Board’s employees and goods in the execution of their mandate.

    Responsibilities

    1. Providing driving and logistic services allocated by the office for all official trips;
    2. Maintaining and updating daily vehicle movement log and schedule and ensuring all trips are pre-authorized by the relevant officer before embarking on the trip;
    3. Carrying out routine checks on the vehicles for detection of malfunctioning of vehicle systems;
    4. Ensuring that the vehicle is well maintained and has all the required certificates and licenses as per the traffic Act;
    5. Develop and maintain a schedule for regular car service appointments and ensure any issue arising is reported;
    6. Ensure that there is documented proper tracking of service intervals;
    7. Organize for vehicle repairs in liaison with the Supply Chain and Administration Office;
    8. Efficient and timely delivery of relevant documents with confirmed signed delivery books/acknowledgement notes;
    9. Ensuring security and safety of the vehicle on and off the road;
    10. Ensure effective fuel management of the allocated vehicle;
    11. Overseeing safety of the passengers and/or goods therein; and
    12. Maintaining cleanliness of the vehicle.

    2. Monitoring TV channels, radio stations and online video/film streaming services/platforms twenty-four hours (24/7) a week for compliance to Cap 222 and KICA provisions on broadcasters’ responsibilities versus child protection from potentially harmful broadcast content;
    3. Assisting in compiling daily media monitoring reports and submit to the supervisor;
    4. Retrieving and viewing suspect broadcast/media content as and when required for advisory and legal purposes;
    5. Assisting in compiling customer feedback/complaints reports in regard to broadcast/media content;
    6. Checking on daily basis the working status of the broadcast monitoring equipment allocated and report on any trouble shooting need;
    7. Ensuring the office equipment and space is clean.

    Job Purpose

    To assist execution of Board’s mandate of regulating possession, public exhibition and distribution of film, through examining every film and poster for purposes of classification and imposing age restriction on viewership with the aim of promoting National aspiration and values, and protection of children from harmful film and broadcast content as prescribed by the Films and Stage Plays Act Cap 222 and other relevant legislations.

    Responsibilities

    Duties and responsibilities will include:

    1. Updating and maintaining film classification catalogues;
    2. Receiving and filing application for film examination and classification;
    3. Issuing film classification catalogues to clients;
    4. Preparing film classification reports;
    5. Receiving and filing application for film examination and classification of content;

    Job Purpose: Responsible for assisting in verifying and examining financial accounting information.

    Responsibilities

    1. Enforcing broadcasters’ compliance to Cap 222, KICA and other relevant laws aimed at child protection from potentially harmful broadcast content and promotion of national values;

    5. Retrieving and viewing suspect broadcast/media content as and when required for advisory and legal purposes;
    6. Maintaining a database of suspect content captured from the broadcast stations as evidence for use in pursuing the violators;
    7. Maintaining the broadcasters’ compliance data;
    8. Compiling the performance reports;
    9. Assisting the Senior in running the section;
    10. Being in charge of the Unit and making daily operational decisions for the Unit;
    11. Allocating the broadcast stations and online platforms to be monitored by the assistants;
    12. Compiling customer feedback reports in regard to broadcast/media content;
    13. Responding to queries from various stakeholders in broadcast/media content related issues and offer creative solutions;
    14. Carrying out activities that enable the department pursue collaborations with MDAC (Ministries, Departments, Counties and Agencies within or outside government) aimed at child protection from potentially harmful broadcast content and promotion of national values;
    15. Carrying out activities that enable the department create awareness on clean media content and online safety among the viewers/listeners;
    16. Carrying out activities that enable the department sensitize broadcast and digital media on the Board’s mandate and their responsibility to media content consumers in regard to content;
    17. Assisting in handling clients’ complaints in regard to broadcast/media content and keep a record of the action taken.
