Senior Manager Sustainable Finance Retail at KCB Bank Kenya

Job Description

• Implement the bank’s Retail banking green finance strategy and work with other stakeholders in build a centre of excellence for Retail banking green finance. 
• Work with Retail banking sectors leads and relationship managers to grow the green lending book for Retail banking.
• Deliver an innovative sustainable finance products and service suite to meet needs of Retail banking customer and achieve business objectives. 
• Identify new fundraising opportunities for climate funding, trends in climate finance and emerging donor interests within the region, and work with other internal stakeholders in the conversion of these opportunities into value for the Bank’s Retail customers. 
• Facilitate the commercialization of sustainable finance products in liaison with product teams, business units, cross functional teams, and subsidiaries. 
• Serve as first line of defence in the management of climate related risks across the green lending portfolio within the legal, regulatory and Group compliance frameworks. 
• Work closely with Group corporate affairs team to build internal / external stakeholder strategy promoting green lending while ensuring consistent messaging to internal and wider market. 
• Develop a deep understanding of sustainable finance ecosystems, mapping out opportunities for green finance and working with commercial teams on opportunity maximisation. 
• Work with Corporate regulatory affairs in conduct ESG analysis for Retail clients as well as ESDD for Retail facilities in line with Group policy and best practises. 
• Align the Retail banking sustainable finance portfolio to best practise requirements including to the requirements of the various partnering development finance institutions.
• Capacity development of Retail banking relationship managers, credit teams and other internal stakeholders involved in the design and delivery of sustainable finance solutions to Retail customers. 
• Work with the Risk, Credit and commercial teams in monitoring the performance of the green lending portfolio to keep it within the approved risk appetite for the Bank, including recovery of any nonperforming green assets.
• Track the performance of the Retail green lending portfolio against establish performance metrics and take appropriate interventions in collaboration of Retail relationship managers and sector heads.
• Prepare and provide pertinent performance reports of the Retail banking green finance portfolio to senior management to guide business strategic actions.
