Senior System Developer at Buni Banda

• The Senior System Developer will spearhead the design, development, and optimization of the C3-EWS platform. This role involves creating a robust and scalable system architecture, integrating real-time data sources, and ensuring a seamless user experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement a scalable and secure system architecture for the C3-EWS platform.
• Develop and integrate real-time data processing solutions, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Collaborate with the UX Designer to create intuitive and user-friendly interfaces for end-users.
• Optimize system performance to ensure reliability and scalability under varying workloads.
• Develop and maintain APIs for seamless integration of external data sources and tools.
• Ensure the platform adheres to data privacy and security regulations, implementing necessary safeguards.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues, minimizing system downtime.
• Prepare comprehensive technical documentation for system processes, updates, and user guides.
• Design the integration architecture to ensure seamless data flow between various data sources (e.g., weather, satellite data, community reports).
• Offer expertise in handling diverse data sources and ensuring that they can be efficiently integrated into the system.
• Lead testing and quality assurance processes, ensuring the system meets performance standards.
• Provide technical training to team members and end-users, fostering knowledge transfer.
• Provide expertise on the creation of dashboards and data visualization tools that meet the needs of end users.
• Advise on the best ways to present data to stakeholders for maximum clarity and actionability.
• Guide the development of monitoring tools to track the system’s performance, such as measuring the accuracy, timeliness, and reach of alerts.
• Ensure that evaluation frameworks are in place to assess system impact and suggest improvements.
• Supervise and mentor junior developers, ensuring adherence to best practices and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in system development, with a focus on scalable platforms.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C#, and experience with cloud-based solutions.
