Senior Tax Associate – Tax Advisory at Grant Thornton Kenya

The overall purpose of this job is to support the managers in carrying out tax engagements, as and when assigned in accordance with established procedures and engagement terms.

Job Details

• Lead, execute and review tax projects, including tax advisory, tax due diligence and tax health checks ensuring high-quality deliverables within the agreed timelines.
• Preparation and review of current and deferred tax  computations;
• Undertake Revenue Authority audits;
• Be involved in drafting and reviewing tax advisory opinions;
• Prepare and review tax returns;
• Performing annual and monthly tax reviews for the clients;
• Assist tax team in development of publications including tax alerts;
• Assist in the preparation of documentation on tax matters and other engagements as requested; 
• Mentor and develop tax associates, providing guidance on tax legislations, data analysis, and documentation practices.
• Serve as the primary contact for clients, managing relationships and ensuring client satisfaction through proactive engagement and strategic advice.
• Represent clients in discussions and negotiations with tax authorities, effectively defending policies and documentation.
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of internal processes, methodologies, and tools for tax analyses and documentation.
• Play a key role in business development efforts, including preparing proposals, conducting market analyses, and participating in client presentations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance (or similar field) desirable.
• Professional qualification  in  tax-related field  such  as CPA,ACCA or  similar  is mandatory.
• Have a minimum of four (4) years in Tax Practice;
• Have good  understanding of the Tax laws and accounting.
