    Service Availability Tech Lead - (22000014)

    DESCRIPTION

    We are pleased to announce the following opportunity in the Digital IT within the Technology Division.   In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below.

     Brief description

    Reporting to Core Billing and BSS Operations Lead, the position holder will ensure 99.99% system and service availability.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Onboard systems to the service monitoring tool.
    • Ensure transfer of system knowledge to the team on new features and support processes by arranging for knowledge transfer sessions.
    • Clearly document any monitoring gaps noted and collaborate with the relevant teams to ensure timely closure.
    • Project Management: Actively contribute to the management of the projects by ensuring timely delivery of projects assigned with the goal of ensuring high quality standards are met and solutions are operationally viable.
    • Operational Excellence: Focuses on achieving maximum performance and driving continuous improvement
    • Work closely with front runner squads to ensure released solutions are well monitored.
    • Drive AIOPs within the monitoring space.
    • Drive auto remediation using DevOps tools to reduce MTTR.
    • Have working experience with Microservices, API Gateways, REST APIs
    • Be well versed with Docker and other container technologies systems availability, Orchestration with a  special focus on Kubernetes.
    • Be very conversant with DevOps tools especially Continuous Delivery tools such as Ansible, Jenkins etc

     

     

     

    QUALIFICATIONS

     

    • Bachelor’s Degree in either Computer Science or Information Technology, Electrical and communication engineering or Business Information Systems or in a relevant field in telecommunication.
    • At least 4 years’ experience in a busy telco or IT setup.
    • Domain knowledge in at least 3 of the following areas, Mpesa, VAS, IOT,  Integrations ,Channels, Revenue Management, Databases, Digital Engineering, Infrastructure including cloud environments.
    • Good understanding of the micro service architecture & appreciation of the traditional/classic SOA
    • Technical Knowledge of working on Dev-Ops
    • Ability to manage a team having leadership skills, ownership of issues been analytical and a problem solver
    • Being able to implement strict change management policy
    • Formulate SLAs for each level of incident and therefore implement a service management approach for all types of services rendered
