Sub-County Youth Development Officers - 5 Posts at Vihiga County Government

Duties and responsibilities

• Help to raise public awareness on issues relevant to the youth in the community;
• Compile and prepare monthly, annual reports and policies for timely submission to the relevant senior officers;
• Liaise with interested youth groups and individuals to set up new services in the community;
• Participate in forums and workshops to educate and empower youth with skills and knowledge to develop themselves socially and economically;
• Encourage participation in capacity building activities and challenge inappropriate behavior among the youth in the community.

Minimum qualifications, knowledge and skills

• Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology, Community Development, Social Work, Psychology, Anthropology or any other related field from a recognized institution;
• At least two (2) years of work experience in a related field;
• Computer literacy;
• Be of age between 25 and 35 years;
• Great communication, problem solving and Interpersonal skills;
• Knowledge of relevant legislation;
• Must meet the requirement of Chapter Six of Kenyan Constitution.
