Telesales Officer Meru at Africa Talent Contours Limited

• Our client in the manufacturing sector and with offices in Nairobi and Meru is looking for a highly motivated & self-driven telesales officer to join our sales team. This is an exciting opportunity to develop innovative strategies to achieve sales goals, as well as make meaningful connections with our customers

Reporting to: Sales Manager

Job Department: Sales and Marketing Department

Roles & Responsibilities

• Contacting potential or existing customers to inform them about a product or service using scripts
• Answering questions about products or the company
• Asking questions to understand customer requirements, tailor the service/product as per their need and close sales
• Preparing quotations and sharing with the customer.
• Upsell and cross-sell other products that may be useful to clients.
• Enter and update customer information in the database
• Take and process orders in an accurate manner
• Handle grievances to preserve the company’s reputation
• Go the “extra mile” to meet sales quota and facilitate future sales
• Ensure customer feedback is relayed back to the line manager on time.

Requirements and skills

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing or a business-related field
• Substantial experience (at least two years) working in a tele sales environment will be an added advantage
• Sales skills and experience are advantageous within the service sector
• Experience at technology-oriented service firms; Mobile telephony, BPO call centers, etc. will be an advantage
• Proven track record of successfully meeting sales quota preferably over the phone
• Excellent knowledge of English
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Cool-tempered and able to handle rejection
• Outstanding negotiation skills with the ability to resolve issues and address complaints
