Web Design Development Specialist at Asante Financial Services Group

Job Objective

We are looking to hire a skilled Web Designer and WordPress/CMS developer to design and implement attractive and functional website and clients web portal. You will be responsible for both back-end and front-end development including the implementation of WordPress themes and plugins as well as site integration with other platforms. To be a successful WordPress developer, you should have a good knowledge of web design, front-end programming languages, good eye for design usability and aesthetics, and content management skills.

As a WordPress developer you will be able to create and continue ongoing design and development of an attractive, user-friendly website that perfectly meet the design and functional specifications

Key responsibilities

• Conduct all phases of the web design and development, starting from market comparison, functional requirements collection
• Participate in the workshops and working sessions with business and technical teams, discuss website design and functions, manage the collection of functional business requirements and change requests
• Build the website architecture, design, conduct the development, testing, production and support
• Conduct all phases of building the Content Management System, based on WordPress and plug-ins in order to create, maintain the content and upload it to website and social and business networks
• Build Client Self-help Web portal and connection to back-end systems and databases
• Work with mobile front-end developers in order to build end user web version of the Asante front end application
• Conduct WordPress ad-hoc help and basic training for marketing team
• Collaborate effectively with the rest of Digital Team, CIO, project managers, business analyst, developers and QAs/testers
• Organise support and maintenance of website, CMS, web portal and end user web interface, troubleshoot content issues, monitor the performance and stability of live website
• Prepare and participate in website performance and security testing, and in retrospectives

Skills and qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software/web development or a similar technical or digital marketing field
• 2+ years of web design and web development
• Proven WordPress web and CMS development experience
• Use of WordPress themes and plug-ins
• Knowledge and use of front-end development technologies including HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript flavours (Angular, React, Vue)
• Experience of working with web debugging tools such as Chrome Inspector and Firebug
• Good understanding of website architecture and web design user experience and aesthetics
• Ability to manage own projects and tasks
• Good communication and team cooperation skills

Nice to have / Optional

• Experience in Building digital marketing framework for indexing, adverts, SEO, ASO, and click-through funnel tracking of prospective users from first click and registration down to first transaction
• Understanding of REST API, Web API technologies
• Bootstrap / Material design
