    Wound and Stoma Care Tutor

    DESCRIPTION

    The Wound and Stoma Care Tutor designs, coordinates, delivers, and evaluates evidence-based education and training programs for clinical students and staff

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Curriculum Development: Plan and design education and training programs based on the latest evidence and research for various levels of healthcare staff (e.g., registered nurses, support staff, students).
    • Program Delivery: Deliver engaging and informative theoretical and practical training sessions, including hands-on practice for procedures like changing stoma bags and applying dressings.
    • Competency Assessment: Assess the theoretical and practical knowledge and skills of staff to ensure they are competent and confident in providing wound and stoma care.
    • Resource Development: Create and update educational materials, patient teaching tools, policies, procedures, and clinical guidelines related to wound, ostomy, and continence care.
    • Professional Development: Stay current with new technology, products, and best practices in the field through continuous professional development. 

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Higher Diploma or Degree in Nursing, or related healthcare field.
    • Certification in Wound and Stoma Care(mandatory)
    • 2-3 years of hands on practices as wound and stoma care practitioner
    • Pedagogy/CBET/CBT Trainer certification (added advantage)
    • 1-3 years of teaching or clinical training experience in a TVET or healthcare setting
    • Registration with a relevant professional body(e.g., NCK)
    • Excellent communication, mentorship and organizational skills
