    Digital & E-Channels Support Officer

    To support business growth, the Bank is looking for a talented and highly motivated individual to be part of our ICT team supporting Digital & E Channels.

    Reporting to the Manager – Digital Channels, the person will be responsible for the day to day support  and management of the digital channels and related systems.  This includes Mobile Banking ,Internet Banking, SFI, SMS Gateway, Credit Score, Integrations to 3rd Parties for Saccos, Mobile money, bill payments and roll-out of projects relating to the Channels. In addition, he/she is expected to cut across learn and provide collaboration support for all other systems managed by the unit.

    The role

    The successful jobholder will be expected to :

    • Ensure that all the Digital and E-Channels Systems are properly managed and deliver business results and delightful customer experience.
    • Provide solutions to all system related problems or failures.
    • Participate and carry out system implementation, rollouts and upgrades and ensure maintenance of the required system configuration, parameterization and change control procedures. 
    • Ensure that business systems are protected and secure and that policies, procedures and guidelines for information processing and outputs are well documented, details available and well understood.
    • Ensure uptime and efficiency of the business systems and provide advice, training, demonstrations and all troubleshooting needs for any problems or knowledge digital channels may require before liaising with the Vendors if technical problem is over capability.
    • Ensure strict adherence to all regulations, statutes, standards, practices and all internal processes and procedures as per the relevant manuals and comply with all relevant external legislation and regulations with regard to Compliance requirements
    • Contribute to the department’s achievement of a “Satisfactory” rating in both internal and external audit by performing your role to the required standards and adhering to all internal processes and procedures as per relevant manuals, policies and regulations of the bank. 
    • Ensure generation and maintenance of audit trails for any changes occurring in sensitive databases are captured and secured.
    • Ensure that all risk management requirements within your remit are addressed and where necessary escalated through the available defined channels.

    Qualifications, Skills & Attributes

    The successful jobholder will be required to possess the following qualifications: –

    • A Bachelor’s degree in an ICT related field from a recognized university with at least 3 Years’ experience in a competitive Digital Channels and Payments environment. 
    • Working experience on Linux and Unix based environment with proficiency Linux scripting and associated tools
    • Competence in API based technologies such as REST and SOAP APIs
    • Knowledge and experience on Integration of Web Services to Enterprise Service Bus (ESBs) and associated tools
    • Competence in Apache based technologies such as Tomcat, Apache HTTP Server, Maven and Kafka
    • Working experience with Message Queuing Systems including IBM MQ, JMS and ActiveMQ
    • Advanced knowledge in SQL scripting using relational databases such as Oracle, MSSQL and MySQL
    • Knowledge in No-SQL scripting, ITIL foundation, Dev Ops, and CI/CD technologies will be an added advantage.

    Reporting to the Head – Business Intelligence, the Data Engineer will be responsible for developing, maintaining, testing, evaluating, and implementing data solutions and data architecture design.

    The Role

    Specifically, the successful jobholder will be required to:

    • Creation, scheduling, testing, deployment, and maintenance, of data pipeline from a different source to required destination with the required transformations for reporting (ETL).
    • Deployment of data science models.
    • Identify, analyze and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets using statistical techniques and provide reports. Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources, maintain databases/data systems, and apply ETL procedures to normalize data.
    • Gather information from business users to understand their detailed requirements and expectations, analyze business/use case requirements from BI analysts to determine operational problems, define data modelling requirements, gather and validate information, apply judgement and statistical tests and develop data structures to support the generation of business insights and strategy.
    • Carry out analysis of requirements and recommend solutions to address user requirements. Manage the queue of requests and communicate to the appropriate advanced analytics, BI or data management functions.
    • Assist in preparing system definition/specification by the users highlighting technical requirements and roll out BI Solutions to stakeholders.
    • Assist in developing and implementing a program of continuous improvement of BI processes through a cycle of analysis of existing systems, processes and tools, identifying areas for improvement, implement high impact changes and get feedback from stakeholders. Make changes to system/database configurations and parameters to accommodate business and technological requirements.
    • Build visualizations to summarize and make presentations to business and other key stakeholders.
    • Filter, clean data and review reports, print outs and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems.
    • Secure BI solutions by putting adequate controls and restrict access to programs by users in accordance to the requirements of the Bank.
    • Understand Key Performance Measures and Indicators that drive company performance measurement and reporting as well as analytics across functions and understand how these metrics and measures align and track against overall business strategies, goals and objectives.
    • Guide the business in drawing report formats & wireframes and advice on the best approach to transform data and automate reports as well as Design and code reports/dashboards according to user specification with the key objective to deliver reports that will assist in decision-making and control.
    • Develop and maintain documentation/manuals on system configuration or set up, carry out technical user training as required to enable users interpret BI reports as well as deal with data, dashboards and report queries from users and resolve or advise them accordingly.

    Skills, Competencies, and Experience

    The successful candidate will be required to have the following skills and competencies:

    • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, or any other degree in related
      fields.
    • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in Data engineering, BI & Software Development using Oracle.
    • Strong knowledge and experience with ETL tools (Oracle ODI, Microsoft SSIS,Talend), query languages (Oracle PL/SQL, SQL), programming languages (Java, C# )
    • Experience with relational data modeling, data management and data processing. Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages in analyzing large data sets (Python, SPS, SAS, Excel etc.) will be an added advantage.
    • Knowledge of Big data tools (Hadoop, Apache Hive, Scala, Kafka, Apache Spark) will be an added advantage

    Reporting to Head – Business Intelligence Unit, the developer will be responsible for detailed analysis, design and development of business intelligence systems, dashboards and reports.     Structured Trade and Commodity Finance Lead

    The Role

    • Identify general and specific opportunities and threats under Structured Trade Finance to position trade finance products and solutions for the overall competitive advantage of the Bank, within the stipulated service level agreements.
    • Champion risk approvals for structured trade finance deals and provide risk management of trade portfolio and structured solutions to mitigate risk.
    • Handling commodities financing with a clear understanding of the associated market risks and the possible mitigants that may relate to the specific commodity being financed.

    • Monitor and drive customer approved trade credit facility utilization. Ensure the portfolio managed remains of good quality as per bank’s credit policy.
    • Provide Relationship Managers & Customers with continuous trade product knowledge through training, and workshops forums to maximize trade opportunity identification/solutions.
    • Proactively manage new and existing trade clients ensuring increased output to grow bank’s share of wallet.
    • Review trade product pricing periodically and do competitive and SWOT analysis.
    • Drive overall client satisfaction and service benchmark of trade offering and build customer loyalty. 
    • Benchmark against world-class Trade finance providers and ensure that standards of the trade finance unit meet similar standards
    • Ensure that the processes, structures, and systems required to effectively service existing clients and develop new clients are in place and continuously reviewed using SLA’s.
    • Ensure complete and accurate customer charges database is in place and is known to all users.
    • Continually drive and ensure consistent and superior client orientated culture and high-quality service delivery to trade customers.
    • Be responsible for marketing research and identifying business from existing and new customers.
    • Customer Calls /Presentation- execute calling programme on allocated customer portfolio and conduct sales presentation as appropriate.
    • Implement and monitor KYC and ALM measures in line with the Bank and Regulatory requirements.

    Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

    • A Bachelor’s degree in Business related field from a recognized university.
    • At least 3 years’ experience in sales and relationship management at a senior level.
    • Sound Trade Products knowledge with ability to package trade finance transactions, including knowledge of rules and regulations that govern trade finance.
