    Senior Associate, Instructional Design

    POSITION SUMMARY: 

    • We are seeking a skilled Instructional Designer to create engaging learning experiences. Your expertise in curriculum development and instructional strategies will be crucial in ensuring the delivery of effective training. You will be part of the Producer Resource Hub who builds partnerships with producers to reach a shared strategic ambition.
    • Ultimately, your role will contribute to reach 100 Million producers by fostering the growth and development of stakeholders that support them through well-designed and impactful training programs.
    • You will lead the development of training related to our Certification program and other programs and support dissemination strategies and data collection via the online learning platform.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:   

    • Support program managers to identify training needs, costs and return on investments to manage expectations.
    • Work with subject matter experts in a global multi stakeholder environment.
    • Design roadmaps, monitor timelines and expenses.
    • Design and develop effective learning experiences that utilize instructional design theories, practices, and methods.
    • Handle outsourcing of resource development and translations.
    • Design videos based on screen recording and PowerPoint.
    • Analyze content for translation, translate content, validate translations and process in course pages, documents and others.
    • Support capacity building, trainers and data collection strategies.
    • Monitor and evaluate the success of the implementation, disseminate learnings and improve designs.
    • Logistical and administrative support in the online learning platform.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS:   

    • A bachelor's degree in a related field such as education, instructional design, instructional technology. A background in Agronomy is a pre.
    • Proficiency in instructional design principles, adult learning methodologies and instructional design models, such as ADDIE.
    • Ability to create engaging and interactive learning experiences, including e-courses, online training, face to face training.
    • Experience in (outsourcing of) video production, including script writing, screen recording, syncing subtitles and audio with video, translate with AI. 
    • Strong writing and editing skills for creating clear and effective learning materials.
    • Proficiency in designing assessments and evaluations to measure the effectiveness of training programs.
    • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Moodle.
    • Knowledge of multimedia elements, including graphics, audio, video, and animation, to enhance learning experiences.
    • Data analysis skills to interpret evaluation results and make improvements.
    • Project management experience in an agile environment with multi stakeholders and the willingness to continuously expand these skills to meet customer needs and add value to the organization.
    • Strong problem-solving abilities to identify and address challenges in the design and development of training materials.
    • Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with subject matter experts and stakeholders.
    • Specific experience in voluntary standards and Rainforest Alliance’s Standard in particular
    • Experience in creating contextualized learning experiences for farmers in the coffee, cocoa, tea sector.

    Associate, Agriculture

    Position summary:

    The Associate, Agriculture will support the implementation of already defined strategic objectives of the Rainforest Alliance with respect to agricultural transformation, from conventional to sustainable to regenerative agriculture within the organization. The Associate, Agriculture will be part of the Sustainable and Resilience Agriculture sub-unit of the Forest and Agriculture unit, within the Global Programs department, and will provide support on agricultural related activities, projects and programs. Associate, Agriculture will provide technical advice for project and program design, contribute for standards and framework development, for his subject matter expertise areas.

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide support to a wide range of projects and programs on sustainable and resilient agricultural, specially those related agricultural transformation from conventional to sustainable to regenerative;
    •  Support with regional project development, their implementation and developing technical capacity on the above-mentioned priority themes;
    • Support in the development of M&E frameworks to facilitate the measurement of progress on broad agricultural topics.
    • Provide general support and guidance to staff and external audiences by providing prompt, informative communications to general queries on agricultural topics including regenerative agriculture;
    • Support the development of scorecards, data collection systems, data analysis, field questionnaires and all topics relating to implementation of agricultural transformation.
    • Support in the development of tools, training and guidance material to be used for Training of Trainers, among other stakeholders; and
    • Advice on internal and external communications and messaging on broad agricultural topics under the supervision of the agriculture lead, and together with Communications team, including webpage updates, blogs, press releases and social media outlets.

    Qualifications: 

    • First degree in Tropical Agronomy or Natural Resource Management;
    • Minimum 3 years hands on experience in agriculture related work, preferably with experience in producing countries in the global south; Alternatively a recently graduated Masters on a related field of experience
    • Knowledge of agroecology or regenerative agriculture would be considered a strong plus
    • Knowledge of certification programs in the context of agriculture issues and sustainability practices, would be an asset;
    • Excellent writing, editing and verbal communication skills;
    • Fluency in verbal and written English required; Spanish, French or Portuguese are a plus;
    • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to interact culturally, linguistically, and diplomatically with diverse internal and external individuals;
    • Initiative, self-motivated, resourceful, detail-oriented, dependability, strong attention to detail and ability to execute work independently and with initiative;
    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and working knowledge on PowerPoint, and Outlook;
    • Ability to travel approx. 10% per year, nationally and internationally

    LandScale Technical Manager

    Position summary:

    We are seeking a highly organized, detail-orientated, and collaborative sustainability specialist to lead the delivery and continuous improvement of LandScale’s indicator framework, guidelines, assessment and claims validation mechanism, training, and associated services. They will play a critical role in ensuring that the LandScale system is user-friendly, customer oriented, and meets the needs of our target market.

    Responsibilities: 

    • Serve as LandScale’s primary expert on Environmental, Social, Governance and Production impact assessment methodologies, data sources and data analysis. This will include developing and maintaining relationships with relevant subject matter experts.
    • Identify, prioritize, and manage updates to the LandScale indicator framework, guidelines and assessment and claims validation mechanism to respond to feedback from users, the requirements of new sustainability regulations and voluntary initiatives, such as the EU Green Claims Directive and the Science-based Targets for Nature, and advances in landscape sustainability assessment. This will include coordinating the collection and analysis of feedback from current and prospective users of the LandScale system;
    • Work closely with the Operations Manager and the Rainforest Alliance Assurance team to strengthen internal management systems and develop resources to ensure excellence in the delivery of technical support, validation, training and other services to LandScale users.
    • Provide recommendations to the Product Manager and contribute to the development of specifications for platform improvements or new functionality that would optimise the LandScale assessment and validation experience.
    • Develop resources, training, and partnerships to help LandScale users to engage suitable assessment and validation service providers.
    • Identify and develop partnerships with organizations offering relevant datasets, data collection tools, and data analytics on sustainability topics.
    • Contribute to the development of new service offers and proposals for LandScale users.
    • Contribute to fundraising proposals as needed.
    • Other duties, as assigned.

    Qualifications & Experience: 

    You should have:

    • Bachelor’s degree in forestry, agriculture, natural resources, environmental management, international development, economics, social sciences, or a related field;
    • At least seven years of progressively responsible professional experience, preferably with experience in developing or implementing sustainability standards or initiatives;
    • Broad understanding of key environmental and socio-economic impact assessment methodologies, datasets, data analysis and data visualization tools;
    • Strong attention to detail. Experience of auditing, or developing management procedures and technical guidelines would be beneficial.
    • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and relationships in a time sensitive manner;
    • Experience developing and delivering clear and engaging virtual and in-person training;
    • Excellent interpersonal skills with experience effectively managing and diplomatically interacting with culturally and linguistically diverse internal and external stakeholders;
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English;
    • Experience of working in a customer facing role and/or a start-up environment is a plus;
    • Experience of working on digital product development is a plus;
    • Willingness to travel up to 10% domestically and internationally, as required.

    Senior Manager, Data Management

    POSITION SUMMARY: 

    At Rainforest Alliance, we believe in the value of data. The Data Management and Intelligence department is paving the way for enabling data-based decisions by focusing on the delivery of scale-able data products to the market, supporting internal decision-making by unlocking the value of data, and creating a solid data foundation on which we can continue to build out our data offering.

    The Senior Manager, Data Management, reporting into the Director Data Management & Intelligence will play a pivotal role in setting up the foundational data components needed to drive our data agenda forward. This person will lead efforts to improve data quality across the organization and ensure that the organization is well-versed on how data can be shared ethically. In this role, you will ensure data standards are defined, documented and deployed across complex projects and in overall data management activities. We are looking for a results driven self-starter who is keen on implementing new and improved ways of working. The emphasis of this role is to not only to identify the right frameworks necessary to successfully manage, share, and address data quality but also embed these new approaches within the organization.

    The Data Management & Intelligence department run point on all activities related to the scale-able offerings related to the Rainforest Alliance. As we sit central to this key topic, we work very closely with the organization as a whole.
    The role will lead a team of 5 (plus a trainee and consultant) covering the data management space.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:   

    Create and embed robust foundations of data governance, ethics and quality across the organisation, to ensure data product credibility and optimal value generation.

    Overall responsible for the following topic areas and deliverables (this list is not extensive and can be evolved):

    • Define and drive the roadmap of the Data Management function
    • Provide leadership and oversight of the data management program and operational model.
    • Drive organisational change, attitude shift, communication and continuous education of business stakeholders on the value of data governance.
    • Build partnerships across function and other departments to ensure the frameworks and standards developed within this team are understood and adhered to.
    • Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while bringing up only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.
    • Lead the implementation of the newly selected Data Catalogue tool
    • Ensure delivery within the Data Management team:
      • Lead finalization and implementation of the data governance framework within the business, onboard and train data owners and data stewards.
      • Define, document and deploy data standards within complex projects and overall data management.
      • Identify data quality rules that will be embedded across the data domains and provide requirements for the build of data quality solutions and reports. Implement early warning system so intervening actions can be identified. Create a rating system to create a common understanding of data quality levels.
      • Ensure that data processes are established and integrated into initiatives across the organization, establishing this team as key members of initiative set up.
      • Deliver training on data standards and data quality monitoring across the organization.
      • Lead the Data Sharing Policy, for the new Rainforest Alliance certification, which indicates which data can be shared externally.

    QUALIFICATIONS:   

    • Master's degree in Data Sciences, Business Administration, or related field;
    • Minimum 7 years professional work experience to include:
      • Experience setting up, working with, and implementing Data Governance Framework (required)
      • Experience with Master Data Management (required)
      • Experience with data catalogues (required)
      • Experience with data classification (required)
      • Experience with data quality frameworks (desired)
      • Experience with GDPR (desired)
    • Demonstrated ability (5 years’) in people management; including coaching, mentoring and developing team members;
    • Excellent influencing and facilitation skills with a proven ability to convene and reconcile different stakeholder interests and influence towards a common vision/plan; 
    • Expertise in data governance and affiliated topics, with experience landing this successfully within an organization;
    • Solid understanding of market standards and innovations within this space;
    • Strategic mindset but with a hands on mentality;
    • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively, culturally, linguistically, and diplomatically laterally and vertically;  
    • Self-motivated, creative and results-oriented 
    • Be a problem solver, identifying underlying challenges and work proactively and collaboratively to solve them;
    • Fluency in English, both verbal and written, with good communication skills; and
    • Ability to travel a maximum of 20% per year, nationally and internationally.
