    People Operations Training Manager

    Role description

    Peach is in a growth phase. We are a young company - in both age and experience - and while we have positive tailwinds we’re looking ahead and seeing a potential barrier to our growth vis-a-vis the skills and knowledge of our existing team. As such, this team of 50+ employees are in need of someone to come on board and support us in building and implementing a comprehensive training management system.

    This individual will be responsible for working across departments to identify gaps in the skillsets on our team. Gaps that exist at present and gaps that could exist in the future. They will build out as well as implement or support in the implementation of training aimed at closing the skills gaps that are presently hindering optimized work and also predict skills gaps and act proactively to address them. These trainings are aimed at both the operators on our team as well as the middle management.

    Training and Development

    • Collaborate with department heads at Peach to assess training needs and develop a targeted training program to address those needs.
      • Result: Feedback is gathered for specific team-based training needs and executed on
    • Design and deliver engaging training workshops, and materials on topics such as onboarding, technical skills, soft skills, leadership development and more.
      • Result: Workshops are delivered and additional needs are identified
    • Interrogate our current onboarding process and create new systems for training new hires
      • Result: Re-vamped onboarding program to train a number of staff simultaneously
    • Collaborate and identify external training providers, consultants and educational institutions as needed
      • Result: Well researched and effective trainings are given to the team
    • Evaluate the effectiveness of the training programs that we launch both internally and externally - and incorporate new approaches as you see fit
      • Result: Proper evaluation is done on all training and onboarding initiatives across the company
    • ● Support the People Operations team in evaluating the skills of the team, the hiring gaps that are needed and areas of performance.
      • Result: Clarity around which roles are needed by when is delivered to the People Operations team and executed on

    Requirements

    This individual must have a vision for what outstanding training and development systems could look like. They need to be someone who has a bar for excellence - and vision of what successful training looks like. This individual is a self-starter that can innovate on new ideas to enhance Peach’s training and development systems - that can continue to move at scale. Ideally, this individual has:

    • 4-5 years of experience in a training and development role (previous teaching experience preferred!) with a strong understanding of learning principles, instructional design methodologies and training evaluation techniques.
    • Demonstrated experience designing, implementing and managing a system that supports the tracking of performance across departments in differing industries.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal and coaching skills.
    • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify insights and make data-driven recommendations.
    • Legal status to work in Kenya

    People Operations Performance Manager

    Role description

    Peach is in a growth phase. We are a young company - in both age and experience. We have a team of 50+ employees and are in need of someone to come onboard and support us build a comprehensive performance management system for all the teams at Peach.

    We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced People Operations expert who can play a role in driving employee performance, updating systems to support the effective collection and reporting on performance and sharing insights therein for continued personal and organizational improvements.

    Performance Management

    • Develop and implement comprehensive performance management strategies, policie and procedures that foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
      • Result: Performance management strategy is implemented across organization with implementation strategies for different departments
    • Partner with our Chief of Staff and Chief Operations Officer to develop and establish clear performance expectations and goals based on the company-wide objectives.
      • Result: Performance metrics are co-created with the team and feed into wider strategy
    • Design and oversee the performance review process - including goal setting, performance reviews, feedback mechanisms and performance improvement plans.
      • Result: Performance review process is audited and adjusted based on feedback and company needs
    • Support the implementation of company-wide OKRs and guide the management team on how to hold the teams accountable for their performance on these objectives.
      • Result: Performance management strategy is developed in-line with quarterly OKRs so the performance of the team feeds into the success of the OKRs
    • Ensure that Peach has a strong disciplinary policy to hold team accountable
      • Result: Boundaries are clear for when something is acceptable / not acceptable at Peach and repercussions are clearly stated.

    Requirements

    This individual must be highly organized and thorough. They need to understand what excellent performance looks like, how to hold people accountable and have an understanding of best practices when it comes to change management. They must be able to work on their own, but also be highly collaborative - as they will be working across every department at Peach. Ideally they have:

    • 4-5 years of experience in a People Operations role -with a focus on building systems for performance management
    • Demonstrated experience designing, implementing and managing a system that supports the tracking of performance across departments in differing industries.
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify insights and make data-driven recommendations.
    • Legal status to work in Kenya
