    Internal Auditor

    Key Responsibilities

    Audit Planning & Execution:

    • Develop, execute, and monitor comprehensive, risk based annual audit plans.

    Financial & Compliance Reviews:

    • Conduct systematic reviews of financial records, statements, and operational processes to ensure accuracy, standard compliance, and adherence to donor agreements and local laws.

    Internal Controls Assessment:

    • Evaluate the adequacy of existing internal controls, identifying inefficiencies and recommending corrective actions.
    • Risk Management: Perform organizational risk assessments and assist in drafting practical risk mitigation strategies.

    Reporting & Collaboration:

    • Prepare detailed, objective audit reports for the Board of Directors and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure recommended actions are successfully implemented.
    • Capacity Building: Support and train staff on internal control procedures, fraud awareness, and financial ethics to build a strong culture of compliance.

    Qualifications, Experience & Skills

    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a business-related field.
    • Fully qualified CPA(K) or ACCA and CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) in good standing.
    • Over 5 years proven experience as an Internal Auditor, preferably in a setup handling complex donor funds, grants, or diverse regulatory frameworks.
    • Strong mastery of financial software and audit technology tools.
    • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex, technical financial findings to non-technical stakeholders

    Program Coordinator

    Key Responsibilities

    Program Coordination & Technical Supervision

    • Coordinate and monitor all program activities at the Portreitz project site in consultation with the Regional Manager.
    • Supervise all Project Technical Officers, including government-attached personnel posted to the branch.
    • Oversee the development and execution of program deliverables, leading project planning, action plans, and activity-based budgeting.
    • Employ resourcefulness in project design, monitoring, and implementation, proactively troubleshooting challenges and deploying creative solutions.
    • Prepare and submit timely, high-quality program reports to donors, government partners, and the APDK National Programs Manager.
    • Oversee the preparation of annual activity-based program budgets as well as monthly and quarterly financial reports.
    • Approve routine program payments as required, ensuring proper utilization and full accountability of donor funds in collaboration with the Regional Manager and Branch Accountant.
    • Enforce strict adherence to project and reporting deadlines and donor compliance at all times.
    • Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with like-minded partners to guarantee smooth activity implementation and achievement of donor-funded results.
    • Coordinate and liaise with private sector entities, government departments, and civil society organizations to explore strategic partnerships.
    • Lead proposal writing and fundraising initiatives geared toward raising resources for the Coast Branch.
    • Carry out any other duties as may be delegated by the Regional Manager or Programs Manager

    Qualifications, Experience & Desired Skills:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Disability Studies, Public Health, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 3–5 years of program management experience in an NGO setting, preferably in rehabilitation, disability inclusion, or community development.
    • Strong project planning, budgeting, and financial management skills.
    • Proven grant management and proposal writing experience.
    • Demonstrated leadership ability to supervise technical teams and government assignees.
    • Excellent report writing, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.

    Project Accountant

    Key Responsibilities:

    Financial Management & Reporting

    • Maintain comprehensive accounting records via ERP system
    • Extract journals, post to the general ledger, and submit accurate trial balances and management accounts by the 5th of every month
    • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and weekly cash flow updates
    • Lead the preparation of the project's annual budget and support departmental heads with budgetary controls.
    • Ensure full statutory compliance, including accurate payroll processing and all statutory deductions
    • Manage donor funds meticulously, ensuring reports strictly align with donor specifications
    • Complete all annual audit schedules by January 15th of each year

    Supervision & Internal Controls

    • Supervise the Accounts Assistant, Cashiers, and Stores staff
    • Conduct impromptu cash counts and check stock cards regularly
    • Oversee daily and intact banking of all project collections
    • Formally verify all received goods and sign Goods Received Notes (GRNs)
    • Coordinate quarterly physical stock-taking, generate variance reports, and ensure optimal stock levels
    • Maintain, tag, and insure all items on the project’s Fixed Assets Register, conducting physical verification annually
    • Ensure data safety via daily backups and bi-weekly offsite safe deposits

    Qualifications & Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Accounting/Finance option), Business Administration, or a related field
    • Fully qualified CPA (K) or equivalent professional accounting qualification
    • Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a project, NGO, or healthcare setup.
    • Demonstrated experience working with donor-funded projects and strict compliance frameworks

    Technical Skills & Competencies

    • Advanced hands-on experience with ERP Accounting software and MS Excel is mandatory
    • Strong knowledge of stores management, stock-taking procedures, and variance reporting
    • Proven ability to supervise and develop finance and stores support staff
    • High level of integrity, strong analytical skills, and an uncompromising attitude toward meeting strict deadlines – this to be confirmed by at least two former employers
