    Data Manager & Lead Clinical Evaluator

    Job Details

    Global Programs for Research & Training is seeking a qualified Data Manager and Lead Clinical Evaluator to conduct this study. This position will require one-year commitment, with potential for extension at the end of the period, subject to funding availability.

    The Data Manager and Lead Clinical Evaluator will work under the direct supervision of the Principal Investigators and the Local Co-investigator.

    Key Roles & Responsibilities:

    • In collaboration with the UCSF-based statistician/data analyst, program and trouble shoot REDCap forms for use in DAPPER.
    • Field test with study clinical evaluators.
    • Track and maintain security of all technical and computer equipment for the study.
    • Conduct refresher trainings with clinical evaluators at regular intervals.
    • Identify data entry errors and find solutions to prevent in the future. Participate in the development and execution of data quality assurance plans.
    • Participate in the organization of study participant recruitment, and participant flow.
    • Take instruction and provide feedback to the lead and assistant study coordinators, identify any problems or crisis with study personnel or participants and bring problems quickly to the attention of lead and assistant study coordinators as needed.
    • The data manager and lead clinical evaluator is expected to be onsite for the duration of the study, with exceptions for emergencies.
    • The data manager and lead clinical evaluator will be expected to share updates on a weekly basis via internet calls or emails
    • Perform other related tasks as may be assigned by your supervisor.

    Key Requirements:

    • A bachelor’s degree in statistics/biostatistics, computer science/IT studies, or related field
    • Experience with online data entry, including REDCap in the context of clinical research studies in Kisumu.
    • Excellent English, high level computer and internet skills with daily access to internet,
    • Experience with mental health care is desirable.
    • No prior health care training is required.
    • Prior clinical research experience is required (e.g., prior experience as a study data manager).

    Retention Officer

    Global Programs for Research & Training is seeking a qualified Retention Officer. This position will require one-year commitment, with potential for extension at the end of the period, subject to funding availability.

    The Retention Officer will work under the direct supervision of the study coordinators and treatment team leads.

    Key Roles & Responsibilities:

    • Call and text participants to remind them of their assessment and treatment appointments daily.
    • Produce a list of the clients reached and appointments or treatment sessions confirmed daily.
    • Produce a list of unreached clients every day.
    • Must creatively and sensitively use participants’ contact information, their ‘trusted contact’ information and other methods of contacting participants within the study guidelines to reach individuals who miss study treatment sessions or assessments.
    • The study retention officer will be expected to immediately bring any concerns regarding study participants (e.g., medical or mental health crisis) to the attention of the study coordinators and/or the principal investigators.
    • The retention officer is expected to be onsite for the duration of the study, with exceptions for emergencies.
    • Must keep all study participants information confidential.
    • Perform other related tasks as may be assigned by supervisor.

    Key Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Nursing, Clinical Medicine, Public Health or any other health‐related field.
    • Must have experience with tracking study participants for longitudinal (repeated) assessments.
    • Excellent English.
    • Experience with mental health care is desirable.
