Your Impact

• You will be playing an active role in two main aspects, financial and operations management, providing support to UK senior finance manger and program manager.  
• Your financial management duties will include developing annual budget preparation and analysis, liaising with wider Africa office finance colleagues to prepare monthly financial analysis, call down budget preparation and invoicing preparation.
• Your operations management duties will include developing call down proposals, managing templates, liaising with consortium and firm teams, program compliance, facilitating team onboarding, supporting consortium administration, preparation of documents and briefing for the client and document and file management.
• You may also be responsible for presenting results to internal stakeholders including leadership and implementing recommendations with wider program management team members.
• You’ll have the opportunity to gain new skills and build on the strengths you bring to the program. You will receive frequent coaching and mentoring from colleagues within and outside the program management team. This will be a 24-month contract.

Your Growth

• You’ll work in our Africa offices as part of a distinctive high impact program that sits within our Social, Healthcare and Public Entities (SHaPE) practice. The program focuses on work with international companies (investors and buyers) to build a significant pipeline of investments to ‘kick-start’ manufacturing in Africa.
• There is engagement with African governments to support the attraction and retention of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in key manufacturing sectors and raise the political profile of manufacturing FDI in Africa. In this role, you will also provide flexible technical assistance to increase investment in manufacturing, tailored to individual country needs.

Your qualifications and skills

• University degree and excellent academic record required; advanced degree preferred
• Numeracy and financial literacy
• Advanced Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills
• Highly detail orientated
• Excellent communications skills in English, written and verbal (e.g., ability to synthesize and convey complex information clearly and compellingly)
• Self-starter, but with an ability to work as a close team
• Ability to work remotely with colleagues across multiple locations
• A passion for administration, including financial processes

• In this role, you will work on case intake and triage for the team, as well as help ensure our records and data is of excellent quality and be responsible for producing monthly reports. You will provide CSR and other firm functions colleagues with advice and support on how to best leverage key tools (including the case management system). You will also provide support with the convening and administration for key decision-making processes including record management.
• In addition, you will have the opportunity to support the implementation of improvements to our operating model, to support knowledge-management, reporting and risk awareness efforts. Over time, you will have the opportunity to contribute to special projects and other risk initiatives and may play a role in ensuring that students that are onboarded through the Learnship programme in the South-Africa office are upskilled on Risk Administration processes. In this role, you will have the opportunity to gain new skills and build on the strengths you bring to the firm.

• You will be part of the firm’s Client Service Risk (CSR) function whose mission is to enable client impact and innovation in a way which manages risks to our clients, people, and the firm. CSR is a globally integrated team with colleagues from diverse professional backgrounds including communications, consulting, government, and law. You will be based in one of our Africa offices comprises 6 locations across the continent (Johannesburg, Lagos, Casablanca, Nairobi, Addis Ababa and Luanda) and about 500 collaborators.

Your qualifications and skills

• Undergraduate degree
• Interest and/or experience in risk and professional standards issues
• Proficiency in basic business software (e.g., Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Excellent customer service orientation and ability to collaborate across relevant stakeholders in a proactive fashion; flexible and service-oriented attitude
• Ability to effectively prioritize tasks, flag issues and escalate appropriately
• Strong written and verbal communication; actively communicates with others in a clear and collaborative manner
• Strong analytical and organizational skills
• Ability to work with limited guidance and is able to navigate ambiguity
