    Senior Credit Analyst

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Evaluate and decision credit proposals (new, renewals, one offs, amendments) received from Retail business units in line with specific credit guidelines as set within existing KCB Credit policy/manual/product documents, CBK Prudential guidelines, understanding of market, industry, economic factors, financial statements and recommending those beyond DLA for consideration while ensuring compliance with set TAT, SLAs and quality standards.
    • Verify and analyze credit information, documentation such as bank statements, financials, provided by BMs/Customers, and seek clarification if needed from other sources, liaise with BMs/Branches for queries, additional information/documents and business recommendations for deviations, if needed.
    • Support creation and update of new and existing credit processes, policy, manuals and product standards as relates to Retail business.
    • Provide training/prompt guidance and support on all aspects of credit to all credit teams across branch network e.g. regional engagements, branch/customer visits.
    • Provide input on development of new and reviewing of existing retail credit products, and credit appraisal tools e.g. Scorecards and Business Rules 
    • Maintain a healthy partnership with business units through effective communication and resolution of customer complaints.
    • Attend to Audit requirements and provide a response to audit remarks/ensure rectification thereof in respect of Retail Credit Unit. 
    • Support review of Retail portfolio through monitoring Early Vintage performance, Migration and PAR (NPL ratio) and recommend appropriate remedial actions e.g. limits review, scheme suspension etc.

    Head, Business Origination

    Key Responsibilities

    • To develop and lead the implementation of credit origination strategy in line with the overall Corporate Banking/ KCB Group strategy.
    • Evaluation of credit appetite including appropriateness of structure considering application, tenor, risk versus return relationship, and the evaluation of effectiveness of risk mitigants.
    • Deliver well thought out decisions showing sound judgement where applications are within delegated sanctioning authority.
    • Analysis of credit applications to assess whether the credit risk is in line with the Bank’s Credit Appetite and relative to the profitability of the deal.
    • Identify and manage existing high-risk accounts and undertake the necessary corrective action when the risk profile threatens to become unacceptable.
    • In liaison with the credit administration unit and relationship managers, provide oversight of performance of facilities booked in Kenya from other KCB Group subsidiaries to ensure that they remain performing and in the good book.
    • Robust Covenant Monitoring to ensure that all approved covenants are tracked as per approval terms. Present applications to the relevant credit committee and/or delegated credit evaluators.
    • Responsible for the oversight and implementation and adoption within Corporate Credit, of all Compliance, Anti-Money Laundering and Sanctions related requirements contained in policies, procedures and processes. This entails the consideration and approval of customers including those that require being subjected to enhanced Due Diligence for on boarding and continued business.
    • Support the corporate business units to deliver world class service to our external customers. Assist relationship managers in negotiating term sheets with clients ensuring that the deal structure, conditions, and covenants conform to the overall credit requirements of the bank.
    • Champion the delivery of consistent, seamless, and trusted customer service to ensure customer retention and loyalty. Spearhead improvement of service delivery and query resolution including defining customer pain points and providing solutions in collaboration with other stake holders.

    Relationship Manager-Infrastructure & Energy

    Key Responsibilities

    Strategy implementation 

    • Implement the Infrastructure & Energy portfolio strategy in alignment with the Bank's overall corporate and business objectives.
    • Deliver agreed revenue, profitability, balance sheet, customer acquisition, and growth targets.
    • Drive the acquisition of new Infrastructure & Energy clients and identify opportunities for sustainable portfolio expansion.
    • Develop a deep understanding of clients, industry trends, and the broader economic environment to support strategic decision-making and business development.

    Sales and business growth 

    • Execute business development initiatives and client strategies to grow revenues, fees, and market share.
    • Collaborate with product, sector, and business teams to deliver integrated financial solutions.
    • Drive cross-selling and upselling of the Bank's products and services across the portfolio.
    • Manage pricing, profitability, and portfolio returns while maintaining a healthy balance between asset growth and income generation.
    • Improve customer experience and non-financial performance metrics, including customer acquisition, segmentation, and satisfaction.

    Relationship Management 

    • Build, maintain, and deepen strategic relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
    • Deliver exceptional and consistent customer service to drive loyalty, retention, and long-term value.
    • Engage senior client decision-makers to identify opportunities and provide tailored financial solutions that support their business objectives.

    Account monitoring 

    • Monitor daily referrals to ensure that client facilities are managed within the parameters set by the Bank 
    • Exercising discretion regarding account conduct based on a close knowledge and understanding of client activities 

    Risk Management 

    • Maintain portfolio quality within approved risk appetite, including NPL and PAR thresholds.
    • Strengthen risk management, controls, governance, and business continuity processes within the portfolio.
    • Ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements, Bank policies, and operational procedures.
    • Conduct regular portfolio reviews and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks and safeguard asset quality.

    Education and Experience

    • A University Degree from a recognized institution. 
    • At least Five (5) years’ experience in the Financial/banking sector,
    • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in Corporate Relationship Management within Infrastructure, Construction, Engineering and Energy sectors.
    • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Credit and Financial Analysis 
    • At least 5 years’ experience in Client Portfolio Management 
    • Knowledge of Trade and Transaction Banking products 
    • Deep understanding of Infrastructure & Energy value chains
    • Deep sector knowledge of Infrastructure & Energy Sectors including emerging trends, threats and opportunities.
    • Digital Savvy and Computer literacy 
    • Entrepreneurial and Commercial thinking 
    • Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills. 
    • Integrity & courage to challenge actions within various business units and the status quo.
