Job Summary
The Showroom Sales Executive is responsible for converting showroom visits and inquiries into sales, directly contributing to revenue generation and supporting business cash flow. The role combines sales execution and basic design consultation, requiring the ability to understand client needs, recommend suitable interior solutions, and deliver a high-quality customer experience that strengthens brand perception. The role plays a key part in client acquisition, lead conversion, and maintaining strong client relationships.
Given the company’s stage, the role requires a proactive and adaptable individual who is comfortable handling both sales and basic operational support.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Customer Engagement
- Attend to walk-in clients and provide professional product and service guidance
- Understand customer requirements and recommend suitable interior solutions
- Convert showroom visits and inquiries into confirmed sales
- Follow up on leads and quotations to drive revenue generations
- Support consistent cash flow by ensuring timely client decisions and order confirmations
- Meet individual sales targets and contribute to overall team performance
Design Consultation & Advisory
- Conduct basic design consultations for walk-in and referred clients
- Interpret client needs, preferences, and space requirements into practical design solutions
- Advise on layouts, materials, finishes, and color combinations
- Assist clients in visualizing final outcomes using samples, references, or simple sketches
- Ensure proposed solutions align with client budget and project timelines
- Collaborate with technical teams for more complex design requirements
Product Knowledge & Presentation
- Build and maintainMaintain strong knowledge of products, materials, finishes and services offered
- Clearly communicate/explain features, benefits, pricing, and deliverable timelines to clients
- Guide clients in selecting suitable products based on budget and design needsAssist clients in making design and product selection decisions

Customer Experience & Brand Representation
- Deliver a professional, engaging, and positive customer experience at all times
- Ensure all client interactions reflect the company’s quality and brand standards
- Build trust with clients through knowledgeable and helpful engagement
- Handle client inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally preferences
- Recommend cohesive design solutions (materials, finishes, and styles)
Lead Management & Client Acquisition
- Capture and record all client inquiries and showroom visits
- Follow up consistently to improve lead conversion rates
- Build relationships to encourage repeat business and referrals
- Support the Sales & Marketing Lead in growing the client base
Showroom Operations Management
- Ensure the showroom is clean, organized, and visually appealing at all times
- Arrange displays and samples to enhance customer experience
- Track and report stock levels of samples and marketing material and coordinate replenishment where needed
Coordination & Support
- Work closely with the Sales & Marketing Lead and technical teams to refine client requirements and ensure smooth order processing
- Escalate complex design requests to senior designers where necessary
- Assist in preparing quotations and basic proposals
- Coordinate client site visits and measurements when required
- Follow up on order progress and keep clients informed
Marketing Support
- Assist with showroom promotions, campaigns, and events
- Support social media or basic marketing initiatives where needed
Reporting
- Track daily leads, inquiries, and sales conversions
- Provide regular updates on showroom performance and customer trends as directed.
Requirements
Qualifications & Requirements
- Diploma or Certificate in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related design field (preferred)
- Alternatively, Diploma in Sales/Marketing with proven experience in interior or furniture sales
- 1–2 years’ experience in a customer-facing or sales role
- Basic understanding of interior materials, finishes, and space planning
- Basic computer skills (MS Office; design tools like AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar are an added advantage)
- Proven sales and customer service skills

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Digital Transformation
- Develop and implement an IT roadmap that supports business growth across the East African market.
- Lead digital transformation projects, including integration of IoT solutions in operational management and mobile payment technologies at retail outlets.
- Manage the annual IT budget (CAPEX and OPEX), ensuring optimal ROI on technology investments.
Infrastructure & Operations Management
- Oversee administration and optimization of ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or Navision) within a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Ensure high availability of critical infrastructure, including servers, cloud services (Azure/AWS), and connectivity across remote operational sites.
- Manage retail automation systems, including forecourt controllers and Point of Sale (POS) platforms, ensuring accurate operational and sales reporting.
Cybersecurity & Compliance
- Implement robust cybersecurity frameworks to protect operational systems and corporate data.
- Ensure compliance with the Kenya Data Protection Act (2019) and relevant industry standards.
- Develop and regularly test Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plans (BCP/DRP).
Vendor & Stakeholder Management
- Manage relationships with third-party technology providers, telecom partners, and software consultants.
- Liaise with regulatory and industry bodies regarding technology compliance and reporting requirements.
Technical Competencies
- ERP Expertise: Proven experience managing ERP platforms within manufacturing, logistics, or distribution environments.
- Network Engineering: Strong understanding of SD-WAN, VPNs, and industrial networking environments.
- Data Analytics: Proficiency in PowerBI or Tableau for operational and business reporting.
- Cloud Architecture: Experience managing and migrating hybrid cloud environments.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Master’s degree or MBA is an added advantage.
Professional Certifications
- CISM/CISSP (Cybersecurity)
- PMP/PRINCE2 (Project Management)
- ITIL (Service Management)
Experience
- Minimum 8–10 years of IT experience, with at least 4 years in a senior management role.
- Experience in the energy, manufacturing, logistics, or FMCG sectors is highly preferred.
- Experience with Forecourt Management Systems is an added advantage.
