    BDS Program Coordinator

    Key Responsibilities  

    • Coordinate day-to-day implementation of BDS activities and workplans. 
    • Ensure smooth delivery of training, coaching, mentoring, and market linkage support. 
    • Lead identification, selection, and profiling of refugee and host community enterprises. 
    • Coordinate BDS support in business planning, pricing, product improvement, branding, 
    • customer service, and basic financial management. 
    • Track enterprise performance, identify high-potential businesses, and provide tailored support. 
    • Support market assessments and facilitate linkages between entrepreneurs and buyers (individuals, institutions, bulk purchasers). 
    • Supervise and support BDS facilitators and project staff, including planning, coaching, and performance management. 
    • Engage internal departments (Finance, M&E, Logistics, Communications) and external stakeholders (community leaders, buyers, financial service providers, ecosystem actors). 
    • Track key indicators (enterprises supported, sales, jobs, income changes), document 
    • lessons and success stories, and prepare timely reports for KI4BLI management and donors. 
    • Identify risks and ensure safeguarding, accountability, and ethical standards in all project activities. 
    • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the organization. 

    Qualifications & Experience  

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Entrepreneurship, Development Studies, or a related field. 
    • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in project coordination, livelihoods programming, 
    • MSME support, business advisory/BDS, or related fields. 
    • Experience working with refugees, host communities, or other vulnerable groups is a strong advantage. 
    • Demonstrated experience in enterprise development, market access, and/or inclusive market systems. 
    • Experience supervising teams and coordinating multi-stakeholder initiatives. 
    • Strong project coordination, planning, and organizational skills. 
    • Practical understanding of business operations, basic finance, and marketing for small enterprises. 
    • Strong facilitation, coaching, communication, and relationship-building skills. 
    • Ability to use data for decision-making, reporting, and learning. 
    • High integrity, accountability, and commitment to community empowerment and inclusion. 
    • Ability to work effectively in complex, low-resource, and humanitarian settings.

    Head of Programs

    Key Responsibilities  
    Strategic Program Leadership & Design  

    • Lead the development and refinement of KI4BLI’s program strategy in line with the organization’s vision, mission, and evolving context. 
    • Guide the design of high-quality, evidence-based, and scalable programs and projects. 
    • Ensure that cross-cutting themes (safeguarding, gender equality, inclusion, accountability, environmental sustainability) are integrated into all interventions. 

    Program Management, Quality & Learning  

    • Provide oversight and support to Program/Project Coordinators to ensure timely, effective, and compliant implementation. 
    • Establish and maintain program quality standards, tools, and operating procedures. 
    • Work closely with M&E to strengthen results frameworks, indicator tracking, and use of data for decision-making and adaptation. 
    • Promote a culture of learning, reflection, and continuous improvement, including documentation of lessons learned, case studies, and good practices. 

    Team Leadership & Capacity Strengthening  

    • Line-manage program leads and coordinators, providing regular coaching, performance management, and professional development support. 
    • Build the capacity of program teams in project cycle management, market systems approaches, protection-sensitive programming, and partnership management. 
    • Foster a collaborative, ethical, and inclusive team culture that centers refugee and host community leadership. 

    Partnerships, Representation & Resource Mobilization  

    • Represent KI4BLI in strategic coordination forums, consortia, and with key stakeholders (government, UN agencies, NGOs, private sector, and community 
    • structures). 
    • Strengthen partnerships that expand market access, livelihoods, and service delivery for refugees and host communities. 
    • Support resource mobilization through concept note and proposal development, donor engagement, and strategic positioning of KI4BLI’s program models. 

    Compliance, Risk Management & Safeguarding  

    • Ensure adherence to donor requirements, contractual obligations, and KI4BLI policies across all programs. 
    • Identify programmatic and operational risks and work with relevant teams to implement mitigation measures. 
    • Champion safeguarding, accountability, and ethical standards, ensuring safe, dignified, and rights-respecting programming. 
    • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the organization. 

    Qualifications & Experience  

    • Master’s degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Business/Management, Humanitarian Affairs, or a related field; a Bachelor’s degree with strong relevant experience may be considered. 
    • At least 7–10 years of progressive experience in program management/leadership in humanitarian, development, or social enterprise settings, with at least 3 years in a senior management role. 
    • Proven experience in livelihoods, market systems, entrepreneurship, or self-reliance 
    • programming for refugees and/or host communities. 
    • Strong track record in program design, proposal development, donor compliance, and grant management (e.g. UN, bilateral, foundations). 
    • Demonstrated experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and managing complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives. 
    • Excellent strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to operate effectively in dynamic, resource-constrained environments. 
    • Strong communication, representation, and relationship-building skills with communities, partners, and donors. 
    • High integrity, accountability, and commitment to localization, community leadership, and Do No Harm principles. 
    • Experience working in refugee settings and/or the ASAL regions of Kenya is a strong asset.

    Community Development Coordinator

    Key Responsibilities  
    Program Oversight and Implementation 

    • Lead the planning, coordination, and day-to-day implementation of assigned SRHR, SEL, and cultural programs. 
    • Ensure all activities align with KI4BLI’s objectives, standards, and the needs of refugee and host communities. 
    • Collaborate with the Programs Manager to refine program strategies, work plans, and targets. 

    Team Supervision and Support 

    • Supervise Program Facilitators, providing guidance, tools, and support for effective program delivery. 
    • Convene regular team meetings to review progress, address challenges, and plan upcoming activities. 
    • Provide day-to-day accompaniment and coaching to facilitators in their engagement with beneficiaries. 

    Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting 

    • Track progress of program activities against timelines, indicators, and objectives. 
    • Collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative data to assess outcomes and community impact. 
    • Prepare and submit timely progress, monitoring, and evaluation reports to the Programs Manager. 

    Stakeholder Engagement 

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with community leaders, partners, and beneficiary groups. 
    • Represent KI4BLI at community forums, meetings, and events to promote program awareness and participation. 

    Capacity Building and Development 

    • Identify training and capacity gaps among facilitators and beneficiaries and organize relevant training sessions or workshops. 
    • Support facilitators to adopt innovative, tech- and learner-centered approaches to enhance program effectiveness. 

    Problem Solving and Continuous Improvement 

    • Respond promptly and effectively to challenges arising during program implementation. 
    • Regularly review program methodologies and provide recommendations to improve quality, relevance, and impact. 
    • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the organization. 

    Required Skills and Qualifications  

    • Bachelor’s degree in Community Development, Social Work, Project Management, or related field; a relevant certificate with strong experience may be considered. 
    • At least 3 years’ experience in community development or closely related roles. 
    • Proven leadership and team supervision experience. 
    • Strong organizational, planning, and multitasking abilities. 
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with basic monitoring and evaluation tools.
