    Finance Manager

    Key Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Formulate and implement sound financial policies, procedures, strategies, and systems.
    • Administer and review the Society’s Accounting Norms and Procedures.
    • Budget and conduct trend forecasting to guide the Society Board to achieve business objectives.
    • Advise the Chief Executive Officer on financial strategies and their impact on the Society objectives.
    • Oversee and advise on prudent financial management and investment undertaking by adopting sound financial policies for optimum utilization and returns.
    • Manage the Society financial resources and assets to effectively support implementation of the Society objectives.
    • Formulate a strategic financial plan encompassing directing and control process to enhance the overall business growth.
    • Prepare and implement finance department annual work plan.
    • A good team player and provide team leadership within the department through professional staff performance management.
    • Ensure that there is effective and prudent financial controls and risk management procedures in place to provide sustainable assurance and improvement of the Sacco’s assets and properly account for all Sacco Assets and liabilities and safeguarding the same.
    • Coordinate external audit activities, oversee, and make sure that all accounting functions are thoroughly concluded to presentation for auditing, and respond to correspondents thereon.
    • Ensure compliance with the relevant statutory, legal, social, and regulatory requirements in execution of Society business.
    • Benchmark on market trends in the finance sector and giving periodic reports to the CEO.
    • Ensure timely and up to date reconciliations.
    • Compile the Society financial reports, manage and liaise with the relevant departments to ensure proper financial reports are done.
    • Management of costs to achieve the Society business growth.
    • Responsible for the smooth running of the Finance Department, review of staff performance,
    • identify training needs, mentor, and coach staff.
    • Perform financial analysis, report, and interpretation to assist in decision making.
    • Participate in the recruitment of staff within the department.
    • Ensure compliance with financial and accounting standards and regulations.
    • Conduct appraisals on all projects to ensure positive returns on investments.
    • Implement technological innovations for sound financial management practices.

    Knowledge: Qualifications & Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in commerce, accounting, Finance, Business Administration
    • Must be a CPA (K)/ACCA holder
    • Registered with ICPAK
    • Minimum of 8 years relevant experience.
    • Advanced excel and Microsoft Navision is an added advantage
    • Computer proficiency in ERP, IFRS.

    Principal Officer

    The Principal Officer drives Kimisitu Insurance Agency strategy and day to day operations including overseeing development and implementation of the agency policies and procedures, marketing and business development, and financial management

    Key Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement Kimisitu Insurance Agency business strategy that will achieve sustainable growth from sales, operations, and excellent customer experience perspectives.
    • Develop and implement a structure that supports K.I.A strategy.
    • Drive and steer the financial performance of K.I.A and implement budgetary controls and sound financial management.
    • Develop and implement K.I.A policies and procedures including designing and monitoring claims handling procedures for timely claims settlement for clients.
    • Oversee all operations of K.I.A and conduct regular systematic performance appraisals and evaluation of K.I.A operations and update Kimisitu SACCO management biweekly.
    • Provide strategic direction to the quality of management of customers and service experience.
    • Provide strategic direction to the management of sales channels, customers data, service delivery systems and relationship management of both customers and business partners.
    • Sell Kimisitu Insurance Agency products and develop new sales strategies for business growth.
    • Evaluate Customer needs and build productive long-lasting relationship and networks to deliver monthly target of client growth and retention.
    • Implement product marketing and sales strategies.
    • Proper and efficient coordination and administration of insurance services
    • Accurate and timely proposals and policy administration including identification and resolution of customer requests.
    • Premium administration including timely collection of premium and policy renewals.
    • Ensure that all day-to-day undertakings are in line with regulatory requirements and legal legislation.
    • Perform any other duty allocated from time to time.

    Knowledge: Qualifications & Experience

    • Degree in any business-related field e.g., Insurance, Marketing, Economics etc.
    • Must be Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII), a member of Insurance
    • Institute of Kenya (IIK) or have a Certificate of Proficiency (C.O.P) in Insurance.
    • Five 5 (+) years’ proven relevant experience at a Managerial level working with an Insurance Company, brokerage firms or Insurance Agency
    • Good networking, business development skills with sound knowledge of the insurance business and I.R.A regulations
    • Solid experience in strategic planning, business development and budgeting
    • Good Management ability with capacity to grow, support and develop (talent within the subsidiary)

    Relationship Officers

    Kimisitu Sacco is seeking dynamic, self-driven, and results-oriented individuals to join our team as Relationship Officers. This role focuses on managing and nurturing relationships with new and existing members, with a goal of driving growth in member recruitment, retention, and product uptake. Relationship Officers will act as the primary point of contact between the Sacco and its members, ensuring member satisfaction and contributing to the overall growth strategy of the Sacco.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Member Engagement & Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with existing and prospective members through regular communication, providing excellent customer service, and understanding member needs.
    • Regional Sales: In charge of delivering and achieving assigned regional targets in liaison with the Regional Sales Agents.
    • Member Recruitment & Retention: Actively recruit new members to the Sacco and ensure high levels of member retention through effective onboarding, support, and satisfaction initiatives.
    • Product Promotion & Cross-Selling: Promote the full range of the Sacco products and services to both new and existing members, driving increased product uptake and ensuring members fully benefit from the Sacco’s offerings.
    • Sales & Marketing: Participate in sales activations, outreach programs, and marketing events in the assigned region to increase member growth, share capital, deposits, and loan uptake.
    • Member Education & Awareness: Conduct presentations and workshops to educate members about the Sacco’s products and services, encouraging informed decision-making.
    • Supervision: Supervise and mentor the Regional Sales Agents.
    • Financial Advisory & Support: Provide advisory services to members on available financial solutions, ensuring their financial goals align with the Sacco’s products and services.
    • Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and submit regular reports on relationship management activities, member feedback, and sales performance for review and analysis by the Senior Marketing Officer.
    • Team Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including Marketing, Loans, and Customer Service, to ensure seamless service delivery and member satisfaction.
    • Compliance: Ensure all member accounts and interactions comply with KYC, AML, and other regulatory requirements.

    Knowledge: Qualifications & Experience

    • Diploma or Degree in Sales, Marketing, Co-operative Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
    • A minimum of 3 years of experience in customer relationship management, sales, or business development, preferably within the financial or cooperative sectors.
    • Proficiency in computer applications and CRM systems.
    • Knowledge of the SACCO operations, products, and regulations is an added advantage.

    Risk & Compliance Officer

    Reporting to the Senior Legal Officer, the Officer is responsible for providing business support and oversight to the enterprise-wide risk management (ERM) strategy and framework that effectively translates the risk appetite framework into informed decision-making practices to support SACCO business model and strategic plan.

    Key Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Managing the implementation of all aspects of the risk function, including implementation of processes, tools and systems to identify, assess, measure, manage and report risks.
    • Identifying, assessing and monitoring risk on an ongoing firm-wide and individual entity basis and support in the implementation of internal controls which are effective in design and operation.
    • Undertaking quality control reviews for the business units to ensure consistent implementation of policies and processes across all business units and identifying any gaps, challenges and improvement measures.
    • Providing consolidated reporting, inclusive of an overall risk profile, ensuring that major risks are identified and reported to the Audit and Risk Management Committee on risk hotspots, measures and recommendations.
    • Assisting in the development and managing processes to identify and evaluate business areas’ risks and risk and control self-assessments.
    • Managing the process of developing risk policies and procedures, risk limits and approval authorities.
    • Presenting to the management monthly & quarterly risk & compliance reports
    • Ensuring that new policies and procedures & amendments of existing ones are verified and analyzed for risk mitigation.
    • Conducting feasibility studies for new business distribution channels.
    • Reporting on the Implementation matrix of Supervisory Committee, External Auditors and Internal Auditor Reports
    • Implementing and managing the risk and control assessment reporting process as well as manage and maintaining management reports, follow up of issues identified for conclusive resolution
    • Establishing systems, policies and procedures to identify, control, manage and measure enterprise-wide risks of the business
    • Improving risk management readiness and creating an institutional culture that places high priority on effective risk management and adherence to sound operating controls at all levels
    • through communication, training programs and risk-based performance measures
    • Identification and mitigation of Cyber Security and other emerging risks
    • Advising the Management and all staff in liaison with the Senior Legal Officer on emerging compliance issues, consulting and guiding the Sacco in the establishment of controls to mitigate risks.
    • Reviewing and advising the management on risk associated with new products, processes, credit application and other internal processes
    • Management and reporting of incidences as well as disaster recovery to ensure business continuity
    • Risk assessment, monitoring and updating of risk registers
    • Ensuring compliance with AML, SASRA, UFAA, Data protection and other emerging statutory and regulatory requirements in liaison with the Senior Legal Officer
    • Ensuring the implementation of recommendations from internal & external audit while enforcing internal controls across the organization

    Education, experience & competencies

    • University degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or any other relevant course Membership to a professional body is a requirement
    • At least five (5) years of progressive and relevant experience, preferably in a financial institution
    • Must possess excellent analytical, planning, organizational, time management as well as interpersonal skills
