    Procurement Manager – Nairobi, Kenya

    Our client, a group of schools, is looking for an experienced Procurement Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of the procurement functions and purchases of goods and services while ensuring the institution sticks to budgets and operates profitably. He/she will be responsible for strategizing and negotiating with suppliers. The ideal candidate Must have at least 3 years in a similar position and good working knowledge of Sage & Excel.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Liaises with key role players to determine their product and service needs and responds promptly to their purchase requisitions.
    • Monitors business trends and product availability to pay the best price for company goods and services without sacrificing quality or delivery times.
    • Nurtures relationships with suppliers to negotiate the best prices for the company.
    • Develops and implements strategies for procuring, storing, and distributing goods or services and minimising stock levels, whilst avoiding stock-out situations.
    • Reviewing suppliers’ contractual documentation.
    • Ensuring that applicable due diligence investigations on potential suppliers are undertaken, reviewed and filed for future reference.
    • Reviewing relationships with existing suppliers, to ensure ongoing feasibility.
    • Performing risk assessments on potential contracts and agreements.
    • Developing, maintaining and getting management approval for procurement standard policies and procedures.
    • Processing and approving purchase orders on Sage and organising and confirming delivery of goods and services.
    • Controlling the procurement budget and promoting a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs.
    • Preparing procurement reports for management.
    • Maintaining supplier and procurement data on Sage.
    • Calculate ROI (return on investment) of procurement department aligned with predetermined set targets.
    • Management of procurement staff in Kisumu.

    Qualification:

    • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Business/Logistics/Supply Chain Management or related field.
    • Must have at least 3 years’ experience as a Senior Procurement Officer
    • Must be proficient with Sage & Excel.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Must have in-depth knowledge of preparing and reviewing contracts, invoicing and negotiating terms.
    • Have excellent financial analysis skills.
    • Be good at networking.

    Office Administrator

    Our client, an Agribusiness organization based in Kitale, is looking to fill the position of Office Administrator. The ideal candidate will provide administrative support to the M.D and all the activities undertaken on the farm. He/she will be in charge of the smooth running of all administrative areas of the seed business and farm enterprise, ensuring that the senior management has access to real-time information on the financial and physical performance of the business. The successful candidate should have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar position.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Supervise day-to-day management of the office, ensuring quality and efficiency while reducing costs.
    • Develop, review and ensure the smooth implementation of, and compliance with, administrative systems, policies and procedures.
    • Coordinate all administrative and legal matters.
    • Preparing monthly payroll and submission documents for payment.
    • Maintain staff leave roster and update payroll accordingly.
    • Manage staff and casual employment contracts and individual personnel files ensuring that hard and soft copy staff folders are fully updated.
    • Follow procurement procedures as per the SOP manual.
    • Maintain an efficient and comprehensive filing system both digital and physical.
    • Communicate with directors/senior staff on appointments, events and updates on a daily basis.
    • Ensure uninterrupted supply of essential office equipment and stationery.
    • Maintain farm records on crop production throughout the year.

    Qualifications:

    • Must have a bachelor’s degree in Administration, Business, HR or Logistics.
    • MUST be willing to work in Kitale.
    • Must have at least 3 years of experience in a similar position, experience within the agri-business sector will be an added advantage.
    • Should have great communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Should be proficient in Microsoft Office.
    • Have leadership skills.
