    Yoga Instructor

    Position Summary

    • THE KENYA Deliver a minimum of two daily yoga sessions across The Sands Kenya properties and support the Spa & Wellness team between classes. Additional skills in Pilates, fitness, massage, spa, meditation, or other wellness areas are a strong advantage and may be included in duties.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead 2+ daily yoga sessions for all guest levels
    • Create a welcoming, professional guest experience
    • Prepare and maintain yoga spaces and equipment
    • Promote sessions and encourage participation
    • Travel between properties as scheduled

    Spa & Wellness Support

    • Assist with guest enquiries and spa bookings
    • Handle WhatsApp, phone, and front desk support
    • Support spa operations and guest experience
    • Assist with admin and daily coordination
    • Deliver additional wellness services if qualified (e.g. Pilates, massage, fitness, meditation)

    Key Attributes

    • Certified yoga instructor (required)
    • Confident teaching all levels

    Group Sommelier

    Position Summary

    • The Group Sommelier oversees the wine programme across Nomad Beach Resort and Chale Island Resort, splitting the working week between both properties. This is a highly guest-facing role combining wine service, cellar management, menu pairing, team training and wine experiences.

    Key Responsibilities

    Wine Programme

    • Manage wine selection, wine lists, cellar stock and inventory.
    • Work with the Executive Chefs on menu pairings and wine selection.
    • Ensure correct wine storage, handling and service standards.
    • Support purchasing and supplier coordination.

    Guest Experience

    • Maintain an active presence with guests across both resorts.
    • Provide personalised wine recommendations and pairings.
    • Host wine tastings, pairing evenings and other wine experiences.
    • Lead the wine experience at Indulge, Nomad's fine-dining wine cellar.
    • Support private dinners, events and special occasions.

    Training

    • Train restaurant and bar teams on wine knowledge, service and pairing.
    • Conduct regular tastings and practical training.
    • Develop team confidence in recommending and upselling wines.

    Key Attributes

    • Professional sommelier qualification or recognised wine certification.
    • Previous experience in a quality hotel, resort or restaurant.
    • Strong wine and food-pairing knowledge.
    • Warm, confident and highly guest-focused.
    • Strong cellar and stock-management experience.
    • Confident hosting tastings and training teams.
    • Fine-dining experience is an advantage.
    • Strong spoken and written English.
    • Contract • 6-month contract starting October 2026
    • Split between Nomad Beach Resort & Chale Island Resort Salary: USD $2,000/month

    Resident Photographer - Chale Island

    Position Summary

    • The Resident Photographer will be based on Chale Island, providing photography experiences for guests while capturing the island, activities and everyday guest experiences.
    • This is a 3-month resident position starting mid-January 2027, ideal for a creative, outgoing photographer who enjoys working with people and becoming part of island life.

    Key Responsibilities

    Guest Photography & Experiences

    • Offer couples, family, individual and special occasion photoshoots.
    • Photograph proposals, honeymoons, anniversaries and celebrations
    • Edit and deliver guest photographs to a professional standard.
    • Teach guests how to take better photos using their own phones and cameras.
    • Host occasional sunset photography walks and informal photography sessions.
    • Help guests create great holiday photos and short-form content/Reels.

    Island Activities & Content

    • Join selected guest activities such as snorkelling, boat trips, nature walks and sundowners to capture authentic moments.
    • Work alongside Marine Biology, Watersports and Guest Experience teams.
    • Capture lifestyle photography and short-form video of the island, activities, dining, spa and special experiences. • Build a library of fresh Chale Island content for the marketing team.

    Key Attributes

    • Strong photography and editing skills with a professional portfolio.
    • Own professional photography equipment. Warm, outgoing and confident interacting with international guests.
    • Comfortable photographing couples, families and individuals.
    • Strong understanding of smartphone photography.
    • Creative, independent and happy living within a small island community.
    • Strong spoken English.
    • Resort, hospitality, travel or lifestyle photography experience is an advantage.
    • Drone, underwater photography and videography skills are strong advantages.

    Contract

    • 3-month contract starting mid-January 2027

    Resident Astronomer

     Position Summary

    • The Resident Astronomer is responsible for developing and delivering unique night sky experiences for guests at Chale Island Resort. The role focuses on creating memorable and educational stargazing experiences, managing and maintaining astronomy equipment, and continuously enhancing the resort's astronomy programme to complement the luxury guest experience.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Astronomy Experiences Lead and host evening stargazing sessions and astronomy experiences for resort guests.
    • Provide engaging and accessible explanations of constellations, planets, celestial events, and astronomical phenomena.
    • Develop special experiences around notable celestial events and seasonal highlights.
    • Adapt experiences to suit guests of different ages, interests, and levels of knowledge.

    Equipment Setup & Maintenance

    • Set up, operate, and maintain telescopes and related astronomy equipment.
    • Ensure all equipment is safely handled, stored, and kept in excellent working condition.
    • Monitor weather conditions and astronomical events to optimise guest experiences.
    • Recommend future equipment upgrades and enhancements to the astronomy programme.

    Guest Experience & Programme Development

    • Continually develop and improve the resort's astronomy offering.
    • Work closely with Guest Relations and Activities teams to schedule and promote astronomy experiences.
    • Assist with the creation of content and materials showcasing the astronomy programme.

    Cross-Department Liaison

    • Coordinate closely with Guest Relations, Front Office, and Operations teams to ensure seamless delivery of experiences.
    • Support special events and hosted guest activities where appropriate.

    Key Attributes

    • Passion for astronomy and celestial observation.
    • Experience operating telescopes and related equipment.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
    • Confident and engaging when interacting with guests from diverse backgrounds.
    • Self-motivated and capable of independently managing the astronomy programme.
    • Flexible and comfortable working evening hours aligned with guest activities and astronomical conditions.
    • Creative, proactive, and committed to delivering exceptional guest experiences
    • Previous experience in hospitality, tourism, education, or public outreach is an advantage.
    • Salary: $1500-2000 (based on experience) + Full Board. Benefits shared on application.
