    Group Tax Manager

    Job Overview

    The Group Tax Manager will be responsible for effective planning, management, control and optimization of d.light’s taxation position. The Group Tax Manager will coordinate and manage all tax matters relating to entities within the group as well as identifying and implementing tax processes and solutions according to regulatory and governance standards.

    Person Specifications

    The ideal candidate is a team player who manages the tax team to greater performance, creates and implements tax plans and works with the accounting and leadership teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and potential areas of risk.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide leadership with respect to tax planning, compliance and control across d.light operations.
    • Manage compliance with tax law across the d.light group, in all tax aspects including, corporate tax, transfer pricing, PAYE and indirect taxes.
    • Identification and evaluation of taxation risks within d.light
    •  Implementation of systems and processes to monitor and mitigate identified taxation risks.
    •  Facilitate and manage the preparation and review of d.light company tax returns and the accurate, timely filing of all tax forms.
    •  Optimisation of d.light taxation expense, by identifying areas of tax savings and integration of tax planning within strategy formulation.
    • New and existing product evaluation to determine taxation impact and advise on taxation optimisation
    • Custodian of d.light transfer pricing policy, responsible for ensuring that policy is up to date and appropriate agreements and approvals are in place to ensure compliance.
    • Review and analysis of  DTA’s and related legislation with the aim of effectively using them on cross- border transactions
    • Monitor current and impending legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate the effects of these developments to management, create strategies to capitalize on changes to taxation legislation and make the appropriate updates to policies and strategies.
    • Find and implement opportunities for process improvement in the company tax procedures.
    • Develop and implement strategic tax planning for all taxes.
    • Maintain effective control procedures over all aspects of the tax process.
    • Manage and facilitate tax audits: preparing responses, creating schedules, etc.
    • Provide support with various internal audits and special tax related projects.
    • Manage and mentor members of tax team to greater levels of effectiveness and engagement.
    • Improve taxation knowledge within d.light through communication and tax training where appropriate.

    Requirements:

    • 10+ years of relevant tax planning and compliance experience at senior management level.
    • 3+ years international corporate tax experience across various African countries ideally East Africa
    • A master’s degree in an accounting discipline.
    • CPA designation with completion of In-depth tax courses.
    • Extensive individual and corporate tax knowledge
    • International good practices in tax administration including developing and implementing a comprehensive compliance management program.
    • Strong knowledge of tax code, compliance and procedures for corporations.
    • Strong experience with a variety of tax operations and ability to drive process improvements.
    • Strong ability to utilize project management and accounting best practices to organize and prioritize tasks and the tasks of other tax team members.
    • Ability to work well independently as well as the ability to work well with stakeholders and communicate the benefits of tax initiatives.
    • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, and ability to work as part of a multi-geographic team.
    • Strong oral and written communication skills, including sound presentational skills
    • Flexibility in resolving issues and addressing changing priorities.

    Marketing Support Executive

    Position Description

    As Marketing Support Executive, Kenya, you will be responsible for executing the brand and channel marketing activities within d.light and ensuring all aspects of its marketing and manufacturing match.

    Roles & Responsibilities

    Support Business Unit with marketing requests:

    • Support new projects requiring marketing input and ensure that Global Marketing is briefed on any art-work creation requirements.
    • Liaise with Sales & Distribution department on new and on-going Marketing campaigns.

    End to End ownership of business campaigns with marketing requirements:

    • Content creation and collaboration of campaigns.
    • Brief Global Marketing on communication demands for execution.
    • Responsible for awarding winners of campaigns and having waivers signed.
    • Liaise with agency for creative Artworks.
    • Organize Facebook live sessions to announce winners on all campaigns.
    • Create report on Job done for full visibility and traceability to Global Marketing.
    • Capture and share competitive activity and pricing changes.

     Lead all trade marketing initiatives:

    • Ensure branding elements are adhered to.
    • Timely release of marketing collateral and share Proof of Execution for audit purposes.

    Requirements
    Desired Skills and Experience

    • A University Degree and 3-4 years in brand or trade management ideally within a related category.
    • Experience working in an advertising agency will be an added advantage.,
    • Experience in the development of advertising material and execution toolkits.
    • A strong understanding of the distribution channels for the industry.
    • A strong track record of stakeholder management and collaboration skills.
    • Proven success working in a fast-paced environment where strategic brand-building efforts are complemented by hard-driving Sales and promotional campaigns.
    • Highly motivated and passionate about trade marketing.
    • Multitask oriented, organized, set priorities and meet deadlines and take pride in one’s work.
    • Demonstrated negotiation and monitoring skills in managing 3rd party vendors.
    • Strong mindset for continuous improvement and meeting or exceeding expectations and able to demonstrate complete discretion and confidentiality.

    Regional Logistics Coordinator, Africa

    Position Description

    This is a multi-faceted role which requires the person to coordinate with key stakeholders across countries to ensure supplier readiness and capacity to meet requirements. This role is responsible for supply planning, logistics planning and order tracking in order to ensure improved order visibility and logistics management.

    Responsibilities

    • Assure on time delivery and reliable logistics operations for d.light managed warehouses and d.light distribution points across African markets.
    • Manage global logistics providers to ensure performance meets expectations and costs are within budget.
    • Develop procedures to ensure visibility into all product orders and their associated demand and supply plans.
    • Collaborate with supply chain teams at all levels to improve planning execution, quality and ongoing integration of demand and supply plans and procurement activities.
    • Track orders from order to delivery and take action proactively to ensure flow of goods.
    • Identify root causes with order delays and opportunities for continuous improvement.
    • Define long term strategy for optimal planning and logistics management and resource requirements including staffing, procedures and software.
    • Track payment status to ensure payment are made on time to suppliers.
    • Escalate supplier performance issues, align on supply plans, and participate in key business review feedback.

    Requirements

    Desired Skills and Experience

    • A degree in supply chain management or a related technical field is required.
    • Minimum of 3 - 5 years experience in planning and logistics.
    • Experience in developing structured planning and logistics methodology and coordinating cross-functional teams.
    • Expert knowledge of: supply chain management best practices, including demand planning, forecasting, inventory management, and supply planning in Africa.
    • Effectively manages ambiguity.
    • Experience switching from supplier managed freight to managing logistics providers directly.
    • Strong demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
    • Solid experience planning, organizing, analyzing and problem solving.
    • Communicates effectively in both technical speak and commercial/business language (multiple languages will be an advantage), with an emphasis on tact and diplomacy.
    • Business driven, people focused, with exceptional influencing skills.
