    Nursing Officer

    Overall Responsibility

    Reporting to the medical officer in charge the successful candidate will provide quality nursing services including performing necessary procedures at the Medical Centre.

    Responsibilities

    • Initiates nursing process.
    • Ensure safe custody and correct administration of drugs.
    • Implement prompt action on doctors’ orders.
    • Communicate effectively to relevant departments on patients’ concerns and conditions.
    • Coordinate safe transfer of patients
    • Support administrative functions of the clinic when called upon to do so.

    Qualifications

    • Kenya Registered Community Health Nurse or Kenya Registered Nurse / Midwife.
    • Basic Life Support /Advanced Cardiac Life Support and any other specialty certification will be an added advantage.
    • Over one-year experience in a Medical / Surgical setting in a busy medical institution.
    • Valid Kenyan nursing practice license.
    • Working knowledge of a hospital Management Information System.
    • Excellent public relations and communication skills.

    Admin Assistant/Receptionist

     The Receptionist will ensure that the front office is functioning in an effective and efficient manner. He/she will attend to patients on the phone and in person, coordinate and organize appointments and documentation to facilitate the smooth running of the healthcare environment, and support delivery of quality patient care.

    Main Job Duties and Responsibilities

    • Receive and register patients according to established protocols
    • Assist patients to complete all necessary forms and documentation including medical insurance
    • Ensure patient information is accurate including billing information
    • Maintain financial records as the cashier
    • Inform patients of medical office procedures and policy
    • Maintain and manage patient records
    • Schedule patients’ appointments in consultation with the doctor/clinical officer
    • Answer incoming calls and deal with clients’ inquiries
    • Transfer calls as required
    • Direct patients to the relevant sections of the clinic for services
    • Maintain visitors’ book and clinic diary
    • Maintain routine clerical records, logs and data and compiles routine reports
    • Obtain external medical reports as required by medical professionals
    • Respond and comply to requests for information
    • Sorts and distributes incoming mail and deliveries
    • Participate in stock-taking and maintain a record of forms and office supplies
    • Ensure reception area is well maintained, neat and clean
    • Safeguard patient privacy and confidentiality
    • Perform other clerical duties as assigned

    Education and Experience

    • Degree or a Diploma in Business Administration, Human Resources, Front Office Management or related field
    • CPA qualification will be a desired qualification
    • Knowledge of computer and relevant software applications
    • Knowledge of general administrative and clerical procedures
    • Prior experience in a similar position within a healthcare setting

    Pharmaceutical Technologist

    Reports to the resident medical doctor. Responsible for the day to day running and management of the pharmacy.

    Roles and responsibilities

    • Prudent management of pharmacy inventory.
    • Prepare and Dispense medicines to clients
    • Offer relevant pharmaceutical counselling and medicine information to clients.
    • Prepare and place orders to replenish pharmacy inventory as approved.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Pharmaceutical technologist enrolled by Pharmacy and poisons board.
    • Minimum three years’ experience in a busy community pharmacy.
    • Excellent communication skills.
    • Proficient computer skills (MS office packages) and experience in any POS pharmacy software.
    • Impeccable ethical behavior with high level of integrity, respect for authority, team work and professionalism

    Laboratory Technologist

    The Laboratory technologist will report to the Resident Medical Doctor. He will oversee the day to day Laboratory operations to ensure that patients receive timely accurate results.

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Specimen collection, reception and processing.
    • Ensuring that results released from the Laboratory are accurate
    • Conducting regular quality assurance activities and documenting them for all the Laboratory tests conducted.
    • Keeping of laboratory inventory/ records.
    • Maintaining of an electronic database for Laboratory commodities.
    • Compiling and submitting of monthly reports.
    • Machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
    • Coordinating the activities between the Laboratory and clinical team.
    • Develop standard operation procedures (SOPs) for all the tests conducted in the Laboratory.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Diploma in Medical Laboratory sciences and registered with KMLTTB
    • Experience in working in a busy Laboratory set up for more than 3 years.
    • Training in quality assurance systems.
    • Impeccable ethical behavior with high level of integrity, respect for authority, team work and professionalism
    • Good communication skills and proficient computer skill
