Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Monitoring and Evaluation Officer to join our team. The M&E Officer will be responsible for leading and managing all monitoring and evaluation activities to support key strategic client reporting and organizational learning.Working closely with the Senior Impact Manager and Program Managers, the M&E Officer will refine impact assessment frameworks, ensure high-quality data collection and analysis, and provide actionable insights to drive continuous program improvement. Key Responsibilities

• Refining and Managing Impact Assessment Frameworks: Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to develop and refine impact assessment methodologies and data collection tools, ensuring alignment with best practices and sector standards.Design and implement program monitoring frameworks, indicators, and evaluation methodologies that support continuous learning and improvement.
• Testing and Refining the Learning Model: Support the testing, iteration, and refinement of the organization’s learning models by integrating stakeholder feedback and data-driven insights. Work closely with program teams to document lessons learned and best practices for future scalability and replication.
• Data Collection, Management, and Quality Assurance: Oversee the collection, cleaning, and storage of high-quality data from primary and secondary sources, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and compliance with ethical and data protection standards. Implement data verification and quality assurance processes to minimize errors and improve data integrity.
• Data Analysis, Reporting, and Decision Support: Develop and maintain real-time dashboards and M&E databases for tracking progress against key performance indicators (KPIs).
• User/Participant Engagement Analysis: Analyze engagement patterns and user behavior to identify factors influencing participation and program success. Provide targeted insights and recommendations to program teams to enhance user experience and optimize program outcomes.
• Strategic Information Support: Work closely with the M&E Manager and leadership team to prioritize key information needs and ensure evidence-based decision-making. Support the integration of M&E findings into strategic planning and organizational learning processes.
• Capacity Building and Stakeholder Engagement: Train and mentor internal teams and partner organizations on M&E best practices, data collection tools, and impact measurement techniques.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Statistics, Economics, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Public Policy).
• A Master’s degree in Monitoring & Evaluation, Data Science, International Development, or a related field is highly preferred.

Work Experience

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL), data analysis, and impact assessment.
• Experience working in a social enterprise, development organization, NGO, or impact-driven business is highly desirable.
• Proven ability to develop and implement M&E frameworks, theories of change, and logframes.

Technical Skills

• Strong proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., SPSS, Stata, R, Python) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Google Data Studio).
• Advanced skills in Excel, Google Sheets, and other spreadsheet-based analytics tools.
• Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
• Ability to design and implement surveys, focus group discussions, and key informant interviews.

Soft Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in report writing and storytelling with data.

Job Description

• The Learning Architect at AMI plays a key role in supporting both business development and learning design efforts within a tech-enabled learning environment. This unique position focuses on providing critical support to the Business Development (BD) team by helping to understand client needs, conducting Learning Needs Analyses, and scoping tailored learning solutions. You will also contribute to the design and development of learning programs, workshops, tools, courses, and materials for both custom client projects and AMI’s core product library.This role offers a balance of strategic input into client proposals and hands-on learning design, allowing you to shape learning experiences that drive real impact across Africa’s business landscape.

​KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• The Learning Architect will focus on both core workplace learning programmes and custom client learning programmes. Additionally, the role will play a significant role in supporting the Business Development (BD) teams in AMI Enterprise to understand customer needs, gather feedback, and review proposals – including support in scoping and presenting programme design proposals for all Enterprise Learning Products. This role also includes team leadership responsibilities for the Learning Architect Amplify, who will support the Solutions Designer in the delivery of these designs. 
• In this role, you will participate in learning design and content development efforts that support Enterprise client project delivery,  including ongoing core and custom program development to support world-class learning design. You will collaborate with project clients, partners, AMI internal stakeholders, multimedia developers, technology platform teams, and subject matter experts to create learning experiences that demonstrate sound learning strategies, produce desired learning outcomes, and develop targeted competencies and practices. 
• As a Learning Architect, you’ll need to thrive and succeed in a very collaborative, fast-paced environment with competing priorities. 

Business Development and Client Scoping Support

• Continuously refine the consultative sales process flow and create supportive learning tools for the Enterprise BD team to conduct thorough discovery calls.
• Partner with the BD team to understand and interpret client learning needs during the pre-sales process.
• Conduct Learning Needs Analyses (LNAs) for prospective clients, gathering data to inform customised learning solutions.
• Work with BD to scope learning solutions that align with AMI’s unique value proposition and core offering while aligning to client objectives, delivering detailed learning proposals and frameworks.
• Where existing solutions do not adequately solve the client’s problem, designing and developing customised or new solutions, including scoping the associated cost and planning for components of delivery.
• Provide input on learning strategies and recommendations during the proposal and contract negotiation stages, ensuring solutions meet both client and business goals.

Learning Design for Client Projects

• Design and develop customised learning programmes, workshops, tools, and courses tailored to specific client needs.
• Work closely with subject matter experts, facilitators, and clients to ensure learning solutions are engaging, relevant, and impactful.
• Ensure that all designed materials align with AMI’s learning methodologies and standards, focusing on outcomes-based learning.

Contribution from Core Product Library

• Contribute to the development and enhancement of AMI’s core learning product library, creating scalable, and adaptable learning content.
• Design high-quality, user-friendly learning tools and resources that support AMI’s mission to equip African managers and entrepreneurs with practical skills.
• Ensure that new products and updates are aligned with the latest learning design principles and are relevant to AMI’s diverse audience.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Collaborate with various teams across AMI, including facilitation, content production, and product, to ensure cohesive learning experiences.
• Actively engage in discussions with clients, internal teams, and stakeholders to refine and enhance learning programs.

• Stay updated on the latest trends and innovations in learning design, particularly in the tech-enabled learning space.

Requirements

• 5 years of Learning design experience
• 3 years of business development/client-facing consultancy/ corporate consulting.
• Proven experience in learning design, instructional design, or a related field.
• Strong background in developing learning solutions for both core products and custom client programs.
• Excellent collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with sales teams, clients, learning designers, and other stakeholders.
• Exceptional organizational and project management skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with competing priorities.
• Deep knowledge of adult learning theory and how to apply these theories in the design of learning experiences. 
• Recent experience designing instruction for leaders.
• Recent experience in supporting BD and/or Sales teams in scoping learning, training, or content solutions – including needs analysis, costing and outcomes development. 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to edit and perform quality assurance (QA) on your own work and that of peers. 
• Understanding of agile methodology and ability to handle multiple priorities in a very fluid working environment. 
• High proficiency and productivity in G Suite tools, including Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides, etc.
