    Court Clerk - Nairobi

    Role Objective

    • A reputable boutique law firm in Nairobi is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Court Clerk to provide administrative and litigation support. The successful candidate will facilitate smooth court operations, manage legal documentation, and ensure timely filing and follow-up of matters before various courts and registries.

    Core Duties and Responsibilities

    • Prepare and organize legal documents with courts and relevant government offices.
    • Attend court registries to file, collect, and process case documents.
    • Monitor court dates, rulings, and case progress, updating advocates accordingly.
    • Maintain accurate case files, registers, and legal records.
    • Serve legal documents to parties in compliance with court procedures.
    • Coordinate movement of files between the firm, courts, and external agencies.
    • Retrieve and organize documents required for hearings and client matters.
    • Assist in preparing court bundles and other litigation materials.
    • Scan, archive, and safeguard confidential legal records.
    • Liaise with court officials, clients, and regulatory offices where necessary.
    • Perform general administrative and clerical duties within the legal department.

    Job Specifications and Qualifications

    • Diploma in Law, Legal Studies, Business Administration, or a related field.
    • At least 3 years experience in a legal or law firm environment.
    • Practical experience with court filing procedures and legal documentation.
    • Familiarity with civil and commercial litigation processes will be an advantage.

    Litigation Advocate – Nairobi

    Role Objective

    • Our client, a reputable boutique law firm based in Nairobi, is looking to recruit a skilled and motivated Litigation Advocate to strengthen its dispute resolution practice. This role is ideal for an advocate who is passionate about litigation, thrives in a fast-paced legal environment, and is committed to delivering exceptional legal services to clients.

    Core Duties and Responsibilities

    • Appear before courts and tribunals to represent clients during hearings, mentions, trials, and other legal proceedings.
    • Draft, review, and lodge pleadings, affidavits, applications, submissions, and other court documents.
    • Undertake comprehensive legal research and interpret statutes, regulations, and judicial decisions.
    • Prepare legal opinions, commercial agreements, settlement documents, and official correspondence.
    • Offer timely legal guidance and practical solutions to clients on a variety of legal matters.
    • Prepare witnesses for court appearances and conduct examinations and cross-examinations where applicable.
    • Oversee litigation workflows, ensuring compliance with court timelines and procedural requirements.
    • Engage with opposing counsel in negotiations aimed at resolving disputes efficiently.
    • Conduct legal due diligence and evaluate documentation relevant to ongoing litigation matters.
    • Provide clients with regular updates on the progress and status of their cases.
    • Work closely with colleagues on complex legal disputes and firm-wide assignments.
    • Support the achievement of departmental targets and contribute to the firm\'s strategic objectives.
    • Carry out any other responsibilities assigned by the Partners or Management.

      Job Specifications and Qualifications

    • One 2 years Post admission experience in a busy law firm.
    • An upper 2nd Bachelors of Laws (LLB) degree from a recognized university.
    • A valid practicing certificate.
