    Commercial Manager – Commercial Beekeeping

    Job Summary

    • We are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to oversee the commercial operations of a growing beekeeping and honey production business. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving sales, developing markets, managing key customers, improving revenue, and ensuring the commercial success of the company\'s honey and bee-product operations.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement commercial strategies to increase sales and market share.
    • Identify and develop new markets for honey and other bee products.
    • Manage relationships with distributors, wholesalers, retailers, processors, and institutional customers.
    • Develop and maintain a strong customer and business partner network.
    • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, pricing, and customer preferences.
    • Develop sales forecasts, budgets, and commercial targets.
    • Lead negotiations with customers and business partners.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Agribusiness, Agriculture, Food Science, Economics, or a related field.
    • Minimum 7 years of relevant commercial, sales, business development, or agribusiness experience.
    • Experience in commercial beekeeping, honey, agricultural products, food processing, FMCG, or related industries will be highly advantageous.
    • Proven track record in sales growth, market development, customer acquisition, and revenue generation.
    • Strong understanding of commercial operations and market development.
    • Excellent negotiation, communication, leadership, and relationship-management skills.
    • Strong analytical and financial management skills.
    • Ability to work in a field-based environment and travel as required.

    Beekeeping Manager

    Job Summary

    • We are looking for an experienced Beekeeping Manager to oversee commercial beekeeping operations in Isiolo. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing apiary activities, bee colony health, honey production, harvesting, quality control, and field teams to ensure efficient and profitable operations.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Manage and supervise commercial beekeeping and apiary operations.
    • Plan and coordinate hive placement, colony management, feeding, inspection, and harvesting activities.
    • Monitor bee colony health and productivity and implement appropriate management practices.
    • Supervise beekeepers and field teams and ensure adherence to standard operating procedures.
    • Coordinate honey harvesting, handling, storage, and transportation.
    • Monitor honey yields and identify opportunities to improve productivity.
    • Ensure proper maintenance of hives, apiary equipment, and other beekeeping tools.
    • Maintain accurate records of colonies, production, harvesting, treatments, and field activities.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Agriculture, Animal Science, Horticulture, Agribusiness, Food Science, Beekeeping, or a related field.
    • Minimum 7 years of practical experience in commercial beekeeping, with proven experience managing large-scale apiary operations.
    • Strong knowledge of modern beekeeping techniques, colony management, honey harvesting, and post-harvest handling.
    • Experience supervising field teams and managing commercial production targets.
    • Good understanding of bee diseases, pests, colony health, and sustainable apiary management.
    • Strong leadership, planning, reporting, and problem-solving skills.

The successful candidate will ensure that beekeeping operations, honey production, handling, processing, storage, and packaging comply with required quality, food safety, hygiene, and industry standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Monitor and maintain quality standards across commercial beekeeping and honey production activities.
    • Inspect honey and other bee products at different stages of production and processing.
    • Ensure proper hygiene, handling, storage, and packaging practices.
    • Conduct quality checks and maintain accurate quality control records.
    • Identify quality issues and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
    • Monitor compliance with food safety, quality management, and relevant regulatory requirements.
    • Support internal quality audits and inspections.
    • Train beekeeping and production teams on quality, hygiene, and food safety requirements.
    • Monitor raw materials, production processes, finished products, and storage conditions.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • At least 5 years of relevant experience in commercial beekeeping, honey production, or a closely related agricultural/food-processing environment.
    • Strong understanding of honey quality, handling, processing, storage, and food safety requirements.
    • Knowledge of quality assurance and quality control procedures.
    • Good analytical, inspection, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work closely with beekeepers, production teams, suppliers, and management.
    • Experience with HACCP, food safety systems, or quality management standards will be an added advantage.
