Key Responsibilities

Risk Management

• Prepare a risk based internal Audit Plan/ Program for every financial year.
• Identify internal controls issues for key risk processes in a timely manner to proactively avert losses;
• Coordinate with relevant departments on the preparation and updating of the risk register for presentation to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Hospital Advisory Board (HAB).

Internal Audit and Controls

• Developing and presenting for approval the internal audit charter
• Planning and conducting risk-based audits. Develops audit programs and testing procedures relevant to risk and audit objectives;
• Discuss audit findings and recommendations with Chief Executive Officer and departmental heads; identify and communicate control issues noted, offering practical solutions relevant to the hospital and related risks;
• Prepare and submit timely, quality audit reports; engage in meetings with management and departmental heads and advise on areas of improvements;
• Constantly monitor if the audit recommendations have been implemented by the management by way of follow- up audits and report on any gaps observed;
• Coordinating the documentation and revision of standard operating procedures (SOP) with key emphasis on adequacy of controls;

Stakeholder engagement

• Assess, evaluate and advise management on how to achieve statutory/ legal compliance;
• Conduct ad-hoc/ special investigations and reviews as requested by management/ HAB;
• Update the Audit and Risk Committee; on execution and progress on assigned tasks and any arising significant internal control issues;
• Liaise with the external auditor, regulators appropriately in consultation with CEO, CFO and the HAB.

Key Competencies

• Strong knowledge of standards, procedures, and general auditing policies
• Effective and explicit communication skills in both oral and written forms
• Ability to analyze and solve problems relating to auditing and related disciplines
• Excellent Computer skills and knowledge of audit and accounting software
• Possess good interpersonal skills and high level of integrity.
• Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Economics, Finance or other business-related fields from a recognized institution.
• Must be a qualified accountant with relevant professional qualifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA-K) or ACCA.
• Possession of Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Information Systems Auditor certifications is an added advantage.
• Minimum of 4 years relevant experience.
• Active member of ICPAK/IIA

Key Responsibilities

• Provide ICT advisory support to the senior management as the hospital’s ICT lead;
• Ensure management of the hospital’s IT infrastructure including planning, maintenance and sourcing in line with the Hospital’s needs;
• Oversee administration of ICT applications across all hospital operations and ensure ease of access and use of the applications in order to enhance service delivery;
• Put in place information security systems and measures to ensure the hospital’s ICT environment is secure in place in line with industry standards;
• Lead implementation of all IT projects to ensure innovations meet the Hospital’s technology advancement appetite and value for money;
• Ensure efficient and effective user support and adequate support for the systems in place to all departments;
• Oversee and coordinate the day to day activities of the ICT division to ensure quality and efficient service delivery; Ensure implementation of all hospital approved quality management systems including ISO standards, Safecare among others to ensure full compliance of the ICT division to the guidelines;
• Prepare the ICT annual budget and monitor its implementation upon approval to ensure cost containment and value for money;
• Identify, deploy and motivate the ICT team including performance appraisal,

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or any other related field from a recognized institution.
• Professional ICT qualifications such as Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), CCNA or other equivalent and recognized qualifications.
• Must be a member of the Computer Society of Kenya.
• Minimum of 5 years’ information technology experience including computer operations management, multiple roles in systems implementation, architecture, security/compliance, business-wide strategic planning responsibility with 2 years at management level.

Core Competencies

• Knowledge of Enterprise/Hospital Information Systems.
• Knowledge of CRM data and database systems; understanding of data security and other compliance responsibilities.
• Experience of commissioning services from third parties and managing contracts, contract negotiation, contract management, and customer/vendor relationships.
• Proven track record at senior level of leading staff within an IT environment.
• Successful track record of implementation with delivery on time and to budget
• Ability to lead change in an IT environment.
• Database and applications management skills.
• Communication skills including facilitation and presentation skills
