    Director of Sales & Marketing

    Job Description

    • Pullman & Mercure Nairobi Upperhill  is  seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Sales and Marketing to lead our sales and marketing efforts. The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader who can create and execute innovative strategies to drive revenue, strengthen our brand presence, and maintain our reputation for excellence.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement strategic sales and marketing plans to achieve revenue and market share targets.
    • Lead a high-performing team of sales and marketing professionals, providing coaching, guidance, and support.
    • Identify and target key market segments and cultivate strong relationships with clients and partners.
    • Oversee all sales activities, including room sales, meetings and events, and F&B promotions.
    • To adapt strategies accordingly, monitor and analyze market trends, competition, and customer feedback.
    • Create and execute innovative marketing campaigns to enhance the hotel's brand awareness.
    • Manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting related to sales and marketing activities.
    • Collaborate with other departments, such as Revenue Management, to optimize pricing and inventory strategies.
    • Ensure compliance with Mercure global standards and quality assurance protocols.
    • Participate in industry events, trade shows, and networking activities to promote the hotel and build business relationships.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
    • Minimum of 5 years of senior leadership experience in sales and marketing within the luxury hospitality industry.
    • Strong understanding of the Nairobi market and key competitors.
    • Proven track record of achieving revenue and market share growth.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Innovative thinker with the ability to create and execute successful marketing campaigns.
    • Results-driven with a focus on achieving and exceeding targets.
    • Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team.
    • Proficient in revenue management and distribution systems.

    Tailor

    Job Description

    • To repair and maintain the hotel linen and uniforms as per hotel standards and procedures.
    • To ensure that the sewing machine and other equipment are in good working condition and to report on any repair requirements to the Supervisor.
    • To hand out and accept uniforms and linen and to ensure that all records are well maintained and current.
    • To monitor any repairs to the guest and ambassador laundry required and inform the Assistant Manager / Supervisor Laundry the necessary requirements
    • To ensure the cleanliness and orderliness of working area.
    • To fit the new heartists  with their new uniform and make alterations if necessary.
    • To alter and to maintain a record of discarded linen and uniform.
    • To assist with inventory of uniforms and linen.
    • To assist with the distribution of the guest laundry and heartist  laundry.
    • To report any found items to the Supervisor.
    • To co-ordinate closely with laundry attendant to ensure smooth workflow and to assist them in daily operations.
    • To read and complete the laundry Logbooks and reports.
    • To carry out special projects according to the assignments.
    • To attend a daily line up briefing with the Housekeeping team.
    • To be entirely flexible and adapt to rotate within the different sub sections of the Housekeeping Department.
    • To carry out any other reasonable duties as assigned by the Laundry Supervisor and Assistant Laundry Manager

    Qualifications

    • 1-2 years experience in a similar role.
