    Head of Admissions & Registration

    JOB REF: ANU/REG/01/22

    Job Purpose

    Responsible for supporting student learning by facilitating student enrollments and admission.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Monitor and report progress towards enrolment plan goals and consult with relevant stakeholders to modify the plan as required. Closely work with marketing and schools to develop a comprehensive enrolment plan in order to meet annual enrolment targets
    • Screen student admission application for minimum requirements and process application
    • Receive and process student suspensions according to the University guidelines. Administer readmission of deferred students and students from suspension
    • Develop and publish student admission guidelines in close collaboration with schools
    • Complete student enrolment request by verifying payment invoices and against finance account
    • Provide oversight on the management of student request for add and drop
    • Inform schools regarding registered students and classes. Develop student attendance monitor
    • Guide students on course selection and approve student course enrolment as per requirements
    • Receive and process exemption requests by verifying with schools/ departments
    • Manage course catalogue and collaborate with the academic division to update course add/ drops, update course enrolment and close courses
    • Actively track and monitor transfer credits and related activities pertaining to student enrolment
    • Manage student academic information and progress to the fulfilment of the University and legal reporting requirements
    • Prepare periodic and on demand reports to various stakeholders who need to have access to students information
    • Preparation of university academic calendar.
    • Mentor, coach and supervise subordinate staff.

    Academic and Professional Requirements:

    • Master’s degree in a relevant field
    • Relevant professional qualification
    • Member of a relevant professional body
    • Minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience

    Administrative Assistant

    JOB REF: ANU/ADMIN/02/22

    Job Purpose

    Responsible for supporting the smooth running of the Department/ School through managing records/ documents/ files/ supplies, handling enquiries, data entry and conducting other related administrative/clerical activities.

    Key duties and responsibilities

    • Facilitate admissions and enrollment of students by verifying student admission records, registration, and reporting.
    • Handle student and others’ enquiries as a first point of contact in the section through email, walk ins, telephone calls and other modes of communication.
    • Provide first level guidance and approval guidelines on credit transfers, unit selection, change of mode of study, request for directed studies, procedures for submitting class work, access to
    • course materials, distance learning, and other student matters.
    • Enter important student personal and demographic information on the student management system and update faculty bio data in the system.
    • Preparation of class and examination timetables.
    • Preparation and analysis of students’ registration and enrollment reports.
    • Allocate and ensure classroom and space availability.

    Dean, School of Humanities & Social Science

    JOB REF: ANU/SHSS/01/22

    Job Purpose

    Responsible for managing teaching, research, and related academic and administrative duties across the school.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • PhD. and a Masters in Social Sciences
    • Minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience, with at least three (3) years in a managerial position
    • A minimum of thirty-two (32) publication points as a Lecturer or equivalent, of which at least twenty-four (24)
    • should be from refereed scholarly journals.
    • National, Regional, and international recognition for research.
    • Supervised at least three (3) post-graduate students to completion as a Lecturer or equivalent.
    • Attracted research funds as a Lecturer/Research Fellow.
    • Relevant professional qualification
    • Member of a relevant professional body
    • Must have attained minimum of Senior Lecturer

    General Expectations:

    • Demonstrated Teaching skills as evidenced by student evaluation and peer reviews.
    • Demonstrated evidence of success in some major non-teaching responsibilities at the University or other reputable organization will be an added advantage.
    • Conversant with online teaching and pedagogy.

    Key duties and responsibilities:

    • Manage the academic programs in the school and enforce quality assurance as required by Senate, under various rules and regulations, to ensure that acceptable standards of teaching and research are maintained across the school
    • Develop and monitor implementation of the school’s strategies, policies, procedures and standards.
    • Articulate University policy and procedures to staff in the school and ensure that school policies are consistent with those of the University
    • Manage teaching delivery in the school
    • Manage research and publishing of findings in the school
    • Manage the development of curriculum in the school
    • Manage timetabling, course scheduling and allocation of faculty in the school. Manage approval of faculty workload plans and ensure each department in the school has necessary resources
    • Convene and moderate school meetings. Collate agenda items and ensure detailed minutes are provided.
    • Represent the school in the Institute/ Centre/ Board/ Senate and any other bodies/ committeesof the University as required in the statutes
    • Manage the examination process in the school
    • Teach, and conduct research within a specialist subject area
    • Manage the school’s graduation list preparation
    • Manage professional growth and development of staff in the department. Make recommendations with respect to discipline, probation, advancement and promotion of academic staff within the school
    • Support marketing and community outreach efforts and activities in the University. Promote collaboration and partnerships efforts, working closely with strategic partnerships and external relations
    • Develop a plan, process and tool for evaluating course offering for continuous improvements
    • Develop and monitor the school annual plan and budget
    • Mentor, coach and supervise subordinate staff
    • Provide technical advice and reports to management when required
