    Site Reliability Engineer

    About the job

    Imperva’s Infrastructure and Cloud team is looking for a highly technical Site Reliability Engineer to drive innovation, scale, and create operational excellence for the Imperva globally distributed network. As an SRE in the ICO organization, you approach solving, supporting, and optimizing the infrastructure programmatically. You will work to improve the overall availability, reliability, performance, and security of the infrastructure for Imperva’s customers.

    Responsibilities

    • Establish metrics for data-driven decisions to help increase availability, reliability, and velocity
    • Apply SRE core tenets of measurement (SLI/SLO/SLA), eliminate toil, and reliability modeling
    • Provide go/no go preplanning, verification/validation, and review of existing and new product/services
    • Proactively analyze data and test the integrity of systems to ensure production applications and services are operating optimally
    • Work with internal and external customers as needed to troubleshoot and resolve business affecting issues
    • Escalations, incident response, RCA, and blameless postmorte m
    • Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation

    Qualifications

    • At least 3 years of professional experience within a cloud/web/CDN scale infrastructure
    • Experience with Python and Go. C/C++/Rust a plus
    • Expert-level knowledge of Linux systems, network programming and protocols TCP, UDP, DNS, TLS/SSL, HTTP
    • Experience with BGP and anycast routing is a plus
    • Experience with DevOps principles and concepts such as Infrastructure as Code (Ansible/Saltstack), CI/CD (Gitlab, Jenkins, Git), monitoring and visualization (Prometheus, Grafana)
    • Experience with big data technologies such as NoSQL/RDBMS, Redis, ElasticSearch, Kafka
    • Experience with containers and container management (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus
    • Experience analyzing and building data telemetry, modeling, pipelines, UI visualization
    • Experience in developing software, troubleshooting, and monitoring large scale distributed systems
    • Implement modern software engineering best practices/standards and adhere/maintain software development life cycle
    • Working knowledge and experience of Agile software development methodologies
    • Outstanding collaboration and communication, and documentation skills with a proven ability to work cross-functionally to establish and meet OKRs
    • BS/MS in computer science, engineering, or a related technical discipline or equivalent experience

    Senior Sales Engineer - Data Security

    Location: EMEA - Remote
    The Data Security Senior Sales Engineer plays a vital role in the growth of Imperva’s industry-leading security solutions.

    In this role, you will be a technical presales expert in our emerging data security solutions such as Database Risk and Compliance, Data User Behaviour Analytics, Data Privacy and Cloud Data Security.

    Sales and sales engineers will look to you for specialized technical and thought leadership in engagements across different sales stages with new and existing customers.

    You must excel at solution-based sales techniques and partner with the sales and the sales engineering teams to plan and execute team-based selling strategies.

    This is a complementary role to our field and sales engineering teams and you must be comfortable in a complex Channel-first selling environment.

    Responsibilities:

    • Become a technical presales expert in the assigned data security portfolio
    • Work in tandem with the Field Sales teams and Sales Engineers to inform the customer/prospect and demonstrate Imperva’s capabilities
    • Supports POV activity focused on advanced use cases
    • Drive opportunities at both strategic and tactical levels
    • Build trust quickly with key technical decision makers via strong business acumen and technical expertise
    • Understands customer’s needs and outcomes to deliver comprehensive Imperva solutions
    • Keeps informed on Imperva products, services, and other general information of interest to customers, through successful completion of Imperva Training, self-study, and certification
    • Stays informed of customer business opportunities, current conditions, future prospects, active measurements, and competitive issues
    • Regularly brief Imperva management on status, prospects, and current needs of top customers
    • Participates in varied go to market activities
    • Display strong time management skills

    Qualifications:

    • 7+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas as a sales engineer: network security, application security, data security, database security, or api security
    • Possess a solid understanding of web applications, database, security, and auditing environments
    • Must be comfortable working from a Linux command shell to perform everyday administrative tasks and installations
    • Compliance standards knowledge (PCI, SOX, HIPAA, GDPR, …) – an advantage
    • Must have a foundational knowledge in databases (Oracle, MS SQL, Sybase, DB2,…)
    • Knowledge in application development cycle, cloud native technologies and automation – a significant advantage
    • Experience with scripting and/or using RegEx - an advantage
    • Exposure to Force Management sales methodologies and MEDDICC - a significant advantage.
    • Self-reliant time management, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills. Driven to personal success without explicit top-down instructions
    • Excellent written, oral communication and strong interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills
    • Able to effectively present technical material to small and large groups
    • Requires 50% travel availability and flexibility
    • Must have access to a functional location to host Zoom conference calls with presenter video-enabled.
    • Solution Architect certification from AWS, Azure, GCP a significant advantage
    • Experience working with cloud solution such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) – an advantage
