    Staff Nurse

    DESCRIPTION

    • To provide and maintain caring and high professional standards of nursing care utilizing the set standards, procedures and policies, to meet patients’ needs and have job satisfaction.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    •  To utilize the standards and procedures of nursing care to continuously improve the quality of nursing care and exceed patients expectations 
    • To be a role model of the nursing profession and exercise professionalism at all times while treating patients with dignity, privacy and respect.
    • To learn to communicate effectively with other professionals/patients and their significant others including staff of other departments inorder to advocate for patients effectively. 
    • To utilize infection control measures in place, to provide a safe and suitable environment for patients/staff and others.
    • To uphold statutory regulations as required by the nursing profession and the Laws of Kenya.
    • To safeguard all confidential information concerning patients and their treatment.
    • To report all complaints and incidents to the shift-in-charge as they occur in your line of duty.
    • To learn to be knowledgeable of the equipment in use in the ward/department and safeguard hospital/patient property and equipment from damage, wastage or loss.
    • To maintain and regularly update professional knowledge and competence through education, self motivated learning and participate in research in the ward. 
    • To learn to provide accurate documentation, proper record keeping and storage for continuity, quality and legal reference.
    • To utilize available resource effectively for quality service delivery, profitability and cost containment.
    • To learn and practice good interpersonal relationship amongst the nursing team, patients and other disciplines.
    • Any other duty as assigned by the supervisor in line with the job description.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • KCSE C and above.
    • Diploma in accredited School of Nursing: KRN/M, KRCHN/BScN
    • At least 1-3 years

    Accident and Emergency Nurse

    DESCRIPTION

    • The Nurse will be responsible for triaging, assessing, diagnosing, treating & managing emergency room patients

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Maintain current emergency medical knowledge and skills through independent studying and continue in education activities
    • Exhibit professionalism in ED in regards to behavior, attire and reliability and discuss problems and reviews related to the patient’s medical records as part of quality assurance studies
    • Take detailed history of patient, examine patient and review medical records
    • Participate in medical staff and/ or hospital affairs with the support of the in charge and make recommendations on changes if required
    • Facilitate transportation of critically ill patients
    • Maintain knowledge of and be compliant with existing laws
    • Carry out ward procedures such as fixing of branulas, N.G tubes, catheterization, ward reviews and resuscitation and carry out any other procedures required
    • Handle patients in casualty and assess a polytrauma patient, comatose, neurological patient and cardiac emergencies
    • Facilitate resuscitation of critically ill and injured patients
    • Guide nurses and other medical staff in history taking and examination of medico-legal cases
    • Train nurses and other medical staff on ACLS & ATLS

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Higher Diploma in Trauma and Emergency Nursing
    • BSN/Diploma in Nursing
    • ATLS, ACLS & BLS 
    • 1 - 3 years of experience

    Volunteer Healthcare Assistant

    DESCRIPTION

    • Certificate in Healthcare Assistant Previous healthcare experience is an advantage. Compassionate, with strong communication skills.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Assist patients with daily activities (bathing, dressing, feeding, mobility).
    • Monitor and record vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse).
    • Help during medical exams and treatments, ensuring patient comfort.
    • Maintain cleanliness in patient rooms and medical equipment.
