    Accident & Emergency Nurses

    ACCIDENT & EMERGENCY NURSES REF: TNH/HRD/KRAEN/04/2022

    • Reporting to Charge Nurse - Accident & Emergency, the successful candidates will be
    • responsible for the following roles amongst others: -
    • Main Duties & Responsibilities:
    • Providing excellent nursing care to patients.
    • Maintaining the Hospitals policies, standard and procedures of nursing care.
    • Championing continual quality improvement.
    • Advocating for patients, treating them with dignity, according to them privacy and respect.
    • Communicating effectively with all other patients’ care givers.
    • Maintaining and observing infection control measures for staff and patients’ wellbeing.
    • Upholding statutory regulations as required by the nursing profession and the laws of Kenya.
    • Safeguarding all Hospital’s and patients’ confidential information and property.
    • Reporting all complaints and incidents to the In-Charge as they occur.
    • Participating in ward and Hospital activates i.e., research, audits, open days.
    • Providing accurate documentation and proper record keeping of patients’ treatment.
    • Utilizing the available resources effectively for quality service delivery, profitability, and cost containment.
    • Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

    Qualifications, Skills & Experience

    • KRN, KRM, KRCHN, BSc. Nursing
    • Diploma in Accident & Emergency Nursing
    • 4 years of relevant work experience 2 of which must be after post-basic qualification.
    • BLS/ACLS/ATLS/EPALS certification as an added advantage
    • Good interpersonal skills.
    • Good communication skills.
    • Good customer care skills.

    Peri-Operative Nurses (KRPON)

    PERI-OPERATIVE NURSES (KRPON) REF: TNH/HRD/KRPON/04/2022

    Reporting to the Charge Nurse – Theatres, the successful candidates will be responsible for the following roles amongst others: -

    Main Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Conducting an individualized patient assessment, prioritizing the data collection based on the patient’s immediate condition or needs within timeframe as per the standard operating procedures.
    • Developing plan of care that is individualized for the patient reflecting collaboration with other members of the healthcare team.
    • Performing appropriate treatments as ordered by physician in an accurate and timely manner.
    • Performing therapeutic nursing interventions as established by individualized plan of care for the patient and their family.
    • Providing individualized patient/family education and discharge planning customized to the patient and their family.
    • Documenting patient assessment findings, physical/psychosocial responses to nursing intervention and progress towards problem resolution.
    • Initiating emergency resuscitative measures according to resuscitation, basic and advanced life support protocols.
    • Maintaining confidentiality in matters related to patient, family and client facility staff.
    • Providing care in a non-judgmental, non-discriminatory manner that is sensitive to the patient’s and family’s diversity, preserving their autonomy, dignity and rights.
    • Reporting patient’s condition to appropriate personnel during each shift.
    • Ensuring that all supplies necessary to perform surgical procedures are availed to the surgeon and the supporting team.
    • Observing infection control measures and maintaining sterility in the operating theatres
    • Applying safety mearing throughout the perioperative period
    • Monitoring physiological and psychological status of the patients.
    • Maintaining current competency in perioperative nursing through continuing nursing education.
    • Performing any other duties that may be assigned from time to time depending on the need and urgency.

    Qualifications, Skills & Experience

    • KRN, KRN/KRM, KRCHN, BSc. Nursing
    • Must be a Kenya Registered Perioperative Nurse.
    • 4 years of relevant work experience 2 of which must be after post-basic qualification.
    • Mentorship training.
    • BLS Certified
    • Excellent interpersonal, supervisory, communication, administrative & customer care skills

    Administrative Assistant

    ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT REF: TNH/HRD/AA /04/2022

    Reporting to Director, Medical Services & Research, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing an efficient administrative support to the office of Director Medical Services and Research in line with requirements.

    ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Administer the Director, Medical Services & Research calendar of meetings and activities effectively.
    • Prepare and update materials for meetings, presentations, and departmental communication.
    • Coordinate and take minutes of various department meetings and subcommittees meetings and compile reports as assigned.
    • Facilitate internal and external meetings including booking meeting rooms, venues and managing logistics in domestic and international locations.
    • Review requests for prioritization with executive partners.
    • Provide logistical and administrative support for continuing medical education sessions, divisional conferences/workshops and clinical governance.
    • Update and maintain admitting staff records including details on members listing, licenses, insurance cover and any other pertinent information.
    • Provide administrative support in the processing of new applications for doctors admitting rights.
    • Facilitate and prepare medical reports as assigned and managing external parties
    • Co-ordinate the requisition and stock control of all stationery and stock items for the office.
    • Attend to all mail and telephone messages, calls, voicemails for appropriate sorting and delivery and action.
    • Maintain department related files, both paper and electronic.
    • Maintain a proper document handling system in the office by keeping an efficient filing and retrieval system.
    • Attend to inquiries and liaise with the appropriate staff as necessary to ensure that the needs are satisfactorily attended to.
    • Maintain a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism; and
    • Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the supervisor from time to time.
    • Any other responsibilities that may be assigned to the job holder by the supervisor from time to time.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • University degree in Business Studies and Secretarial training or equivalent.
    • Medical secretarial training
    • Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in a similar role.
